Looking for a holiday

As some members may be aware, I have been undergoing cataract treatment for over a year now. Currently I am taking eye drops several times per day in order to clear up an infection, which otherwise may result in yet another operation. My next appointment is 18th October and a friend suggested that I take a holiday in between to take my mind off the situation.
Ordinarily it would never cross my mind to book a holiday, but under the circumstances it does seem a prudent idea. If I can find a reasonable holiday by this weekend and only take a week, I shall be home in time to attend the appointment.
The hunt for a holiday is now on.

That's a great idea. Good luck. Be sure to take plenty of drops and the prescription (you never know).

@ElizabethWallace I am hoping to take another break shortly after my appointment on 18th, but of course that would be reliant on whatever schedule is provided for further treatment.

Hope you find a nice place to holiday. Sorry to hear of the infection. I think I will be up for cataract surgery soon. I was diagnosed with one in June and it seems to be getting worse.

@celticeagle Drawing attention earlier would only have resulted in being referred to an optician to prescribe glasses. The operation is not usually available until the situation becomes critical, which is outrageous.

@Asylum .......Well, I think I have had mine for about fifteen years. I was thinking the other day that I had this problem with my eyes since before we moved into this apartment. That was about fifteen years ago. I only said something to the doctor this year.

It is sensitive, so it is good idea to take rest before operation.

Hope you find a holiday where you can just relax and ease your mind. I wish you the best of luck when it comes to your appointment and that everything goes well with your eyes. Perhaps a holiday in a quiet lodge by a lake where you can just enjoy the fall colors.

@RasmaSandra I usually find booking the accommodation and flight separately to work out more expensive than a package deal.

@Asylum If you are still looking I hit upon this site that offer villa rentals for holidays in Spain. I just don't know what their prices are like so just another suggestion.
Book a hotel in Spain online. Hotels from budget to luxury. Good rates. No reservation costs. Read hotel reviews from real guests.

Oh you are like a Hunter of Holidays - always looking through the scope to find the right place. Yesterday while playing bowls, my friend who has just (4 weeks) ago had his eye surgery, got a massive blood clot in the white of the eye - I was horrified and insisted that he stop playing and go home and contact his specialist. They are checking it today - oh I hope he hasnt come back to bowls to soon - the sunlight is a killer

I too had a kind of fear when I had to contact a doctor for my dental problem. He just removed the tooth and sent me out. Some 6 tablets also were given to me. That's all

@Asylum my sister is looking at Bulgaria...seem to be some nice places to go to there and the prices aren't extortionate.
