The Tragedy of a Dead Mouse!

It is apparent that my Computer Mouse is officially DEAD! I have to purchase a new one today, but as I am a little pedantic, the choice is going to be difficult. WHY? It must fit snug in my right hand; It must function like the old one did; It must not cost an arm and a leg; It must come with a Cat Warranty!! Trying to do this post this morning was a impediment struggle. Left click - nothing, right click - even less, throw the mouse on the floor - lights went out!! I was frustrated! I liked the little Hello Kitty mouse, BUT my concern is how will my hubby feel pushing little pink kitty ears all afternoon when he does his business on the computer? ha ha ha How are you with your computer gadgets?

I have many gadgets connected to the laptop, but not a mouse. I am satisfied with the touchpad, at least under Linux where I can configure it like I want. The Windows laptop that I bought recently has also a touch screen, so I do not think I need a mouse for it. The Hello Kitty mouse is nice, but I would not buy this one.

Nice to meet a Linux user. I want to use Linux, but, I'm afraid of the terminal scripting. I study computer science and I will learn about the Linux system when I study operating systems. The touchpad of the laptop is fine for me, but, the mouse is more comfortable. Where can I start learning about linux ?

@stringer321 I installed my first Linux in 1995 (I definitely switched to Linux when I bought a computer coming with Vista) when there was not a lot of support available, and I learned by myself. Now there are a lot of forums with people able to help you if you miss something. You can start to install an easy flavor of Linux where every software has already been compiled and packaged, where you will rarely have to open a terminal console. Ubuntu is popular among people coming from the Windows world. Some large console software have hundreds of commands, and I look online when I need to do something specific. For basic commands, man followed by the name of the command will display help. There is an excellent guide/course online with exercises to learn bash scripting. I give you the link.
A complete guide for newcomers and advanced users to correct usage and deep understanding of the bash shell language.

Oh no, that would be a lot more costly to replace than just the mouse...

I usually have a spare mouse in the house because I fully agree that finding the right one is not always easy. I hate those large bulky mice that are more like guinea pigs than mice.

My computer gadgets must be "simple", nothing fancy, but good quality that lasts and does not cost an arm and a leg. I have a Logitech mouse and keyboard (NOT wireless) and I am very happy.

@MALUSE I am very content with Logitech, I even bought a second mouse just in case the one I have should break. The keyboards last for decades.

We are the same when choosing a mouse. I should feel comfortable using it

I can see how much you like your mouse. Try to think about the positive way, you can still keep its body well

What do you mean 'it must not cost and arm and a leg' ? I'm sure your neighbors have a brand new mouse they never used. I had a new mouse when I bought a new computer, but, the old one was fine, so I saved it. If you just ask some people around, I'm sure you will find a mouse. I think an LG mouse will be just fine for you. Sometimes I need to remove some dust under the mouse to allow the laser to scan the surface and sense the movement, it connects with the usb connection. There is always the mobile phone you can brows mylot easily since mylot has a responsive design and is easy to use even on small screens.

I very rarely use a mouse as I mostly work sitting in my armchair. The touchpad is fine for me, but if ever I work at the table I use a mouse then.

I am very static therefore the touchpad gets out of hand some days and bombs out - my high iron levels create the static and I just cant get away from it

lol. My mouse hasn't fully quit, but the scroll part has. It's ok. My computer monitor though went out a few days ago. I got a new one, but had trouble with it until now.

I'm using a very very old mouse. The company name is worn so it is impossible to know the brand. It was given to me by an office which was getting furnished with new computers. The old mouse runs just fine for me.

I am not sure why my mouse gave up the ghost - it seems there might be a loose wire inside or something - I have had my mouse for over 8 years - so I will be sad to get a new one

My laptop was stolen just three weeks ago. I did not want to stress too much from the lose. I did not like that laptop anyway, it too slow. Before it was stolen , I had thought of returning it from the store where I bought it. Now I am using my good old laptop which is way way way faster than the one-month old laptop that was stolen.

I never suspected that a computer mouse could be so cute. You may have to have his and her "mice" though!
