It's hard to believe that my eldest will be five on the 18th of this month. I have a hard time believing it when I think about it.
It feels like not that long ago she was just a baby that we were bringing home from the hospital.
Now, she is almost five, will be starting kindergarten in September, and she has her own personality. She knows what she likes, what she doesn't like, and she knows exactly what she wants to be when she grows up. She's also quite smart. She picks up on quite a few things.
As much as I may have a hard time believing she's almost five and how big she is, I love to see her personality come and hear about all the things she has to say.

The years pass quickly. They grown up so fast. It is so sweet how their little personalities develope and how they change as they get older.

It is an exciting time when they start to exhibit their own personality! I remember when both of my children went through that. It was so amazing seeing them develop a sense of what they like and dislike, their mannerisms, their view of life, their emotions, and everything else. It's almost like a lightbulb goes off in your head and you realize that they are really individual people now!

I like how you describe it. It's exactly like a lightbulb went off in my end, when I realized it. She has really become her own person with her own personality. Even my second is slowly doing the same thing. Becoming her own person. It's nice to see.

@moffittjc Yeah, I'm definitely enjoying it for sure. She's becoming more and more her person. It does make it more real that we have a human being.

@dodo19 For me, I loved it when their personality kicked in. It made it real, made it finally hit home that I created another human being!

TIme passes so fast. I have known some children when they were I year olds and now in their twenties and I wonder how rapid they have grown too

Time certainly does fly. My kids are almost all adults now. The three oldest moved out recently. Been an adjustment for me and my wife.

@koopharper thankfully they're not too far. We all react differently to these things.

@dodo19 Thankfully they aren't far away and it was not an acrimonious moving out. I think it was an important step. My wife is taking it a lot harder than I am though.

I know what you mean about children growing so fast. I can still remember meeting my oldest nephew when he was about two days old--and he's eleven now.

I used to work in day cares and it always amazed me to watch this kids grow up from the babies I cared for into the 5-year-olds ready for kindergarten. They grow up so fast but like you said, it's amazing to see their personalities come to life. :-)
