She's almost five!

It's hard to believe that my eldest will be five on the 18th of this month. I have a hard time believing it when I think about it. It feels like not that long ago she was just a baby that we were bringing home from the hospital. Now, she is almost five, will be starting kindergarten in September, and she has her own personality. She knows what she likes, what she doesn't like, and she knows exactly what she wants to be when she grows up. She's also quite smart. She picks up on quite a few things. As much as I may have a hard time believing she's almost five and how big she is, I love to see her personality come and hear about all the things she has to say.

Thanks. I'm sure she will. She's definitely excited. She's telling people that she's almost five every chance she gets. It goes by so fast. Doesn't feel like five years have passed since she was born.

@tammys85 Yeah, my eldest is the same right now. She knows her birthday is on the 18th, and can't wait. We're having her party on the 19th.

I wish your child will have a wonderful birthday The time really passes so quickly. It seems many things happen in a second. Soon you will find that she goes to primary school, then middle school and then university

Thanks. It is so true. Time flies so quickly. A little too quickly. A week sometimes feels like a few hours. They grow up so fast. I'm sure she'll be in university before I know it.

Wow, 25! Right now, it seems so far, but that's what I thought when my eldest was born. I'm sure it's going to be here sooner than I think.

@beenice2 I can imagine that it's not easy, but that's just the way it is. There comes a point, when they're on their own and things change.

It is an exciting time when they start to exhibit their own personality! I remember when both of my children went through that. It was so amazing seeing them develop a sense of what they like and dislike, their mannerisms, their view of life, their emotions, and everything else. It's almost like a lightbulb goes off in your head and you realize that they are really individual people now!

I like how you describe it. It's exactly like a lightbulb went off in my end, when I realized it. She has really become her own person with her own personality. Even my second is slowly doing the same thing. Becoming her own person. It's nice to see.

@moffittjc Yeah, I'm definitely enjoying it for sure. She's becoming more and more her person. It does make it more real that we have a human being.

@dodo19 For me, I loved it when their personality kicked in. It made it real, made it finally hit home that I created another human being!

It's crazy how time flies, when you think about it. My sister-in-law has two girls. I've known them since they were two years old and a few months old. Now they're 11 and 9. It's crazy.

Time certainly does fly. My kids are almost all adults now. The three oldest moved out recently. Been an adjustment for me and my wife.

Time really does fly by. I can imagine that there's an adjustment period when your kids move out. I'm sure it'll be the case when mine do move out.

@dodo19 Thankfully they aren't far away and it was not an acrimonious moving out. I think it was an important step. My wife is taking it a lot harder than I am though.

Children grow up so quickly, so enjoy every moment. I cried when mine got on the school bus for kindergarten. It's amazing to listen to them as they grow from little people into bigger people. Lol!

I used to work in day cares and it always amazed me to watch this kids grow up from the babies I cared for into the 5-year-olds ready for kindergarten. They grow up so fast but like you said, it's amazing to see their personalities come to life. :-)
