Woo-Hoo - Off To Spain Tomorrow!

Sunshine, shorts, sea, sand, sangria - get the picture? Yes, my husband and I are off to spend 4 weeks in Spain, and we are really looking forward to getting away from cold, grey England. Though it won't be hot, it should be pleasantly warm - that will suit us just fine.
It's not expensive when you consider we won't be running up the usual bills at home, and of course there will be no cooking, cleaning, washing-up etc. - yaaay!
We've got a friend who's going to house-sit for us - it's doing her a favour, and it should ensure that the house doesn't burn down or be burgled in our absence!
We are going to an area that is bustling with activity, so I don't envisage doing too much myLotting - we will be out and about enjoying ourselves.
The hotel does have internet, so I should be able to see what you are up to, and comment a bit when my husband goes to bed. He has his eye patch and ear-plugs so I shouldn't disturb him too much.
I probably won't actually post too much (nothing really new there then), but if you do notice I'm not here often you'll know why.
Are you jealous?

when you say the usual bills, i guess you mean water, heating, lights and gas plus food and groceries?

@jaboUK oh, right, gas for the car, too. i guess it's because most people think vacations are expensive (that's why you save up for it) then usually come home broke, but for you, it's actually cheaper.

@hereandthere I wouldn't go so far as to say it's cheaper than staying at home, but there's not that much difference when you take everything into account.

I don't know if I am. I'll have to think about it. Haven't been anywhere special since August. I'm thinking, if my publisher doesn't need me much in December, I might take a short cruise. Have lots of fun, and don't worry about us. Thanks for letting us know.

Have a wonderful vacation. My brief getaway is coming to an end. I feel refreshed and am waiting to see what happens next.

I am jealous but know you will have a wonderful vacation. Hopefully we will be doing something similar too but not if I get my knee surgery and I really want that... Have a blast and touch base when you can.

Just a tiny bit ...not jealous but thinking its time we took a vacation.

@responsiveme I'm able to peep in now because the journey has tired my husband out, and he's gone to bed early. We had to leave our home at 2.30am in order to catch 6.15am flight, but he'll be fine after a good night's sleep.

One of my dear friends from Holland vacationed in Spain. She went every year and loved it so much. Sadly she is unable to travel anymore due to her ill health.
I am sure that you will fill us in on all of your fun in the sun days. Enjoy!

@ElusiveButterfly Sorry about your friend's health - my husband doesn't have good health either. It takes him a couple of days to get over the travelling, but it's worth it as the sunshine does him a lot of good.

Yes I am jealous Janet because I love Spain, I like tapas and Sangria and the laid back attitude of Spaniards. Here is very cold this morning, the temperature is around zero, the lawn is frozen, even if it's a beautiful sunny day. I believe that hotels are not very expensive in Spain during this season, I have to talk to my husband about this.
