Is Everyone Welcome at Your House?

I saw this sign in a museum while we were away and it made me smile. Luckily we get along with all our relations although we don't see a lot of some of them, which probably helps us get along so well.
Then there is the saying 'we can choose our friends but we can't choose our relatives'. So I'm wondering whether this sign is applicable to you or not? Although it's a bit funny, I wouldn't put it at my front door. Would you?

lol my fiance would probably hang it on our door. He doesn't get along with most of his family. It's a long story.

I know there are many families that don't get long. I think it might have helped that when we married we moved quite a way away and by the time we moved back closer we'd become a single unit so to speak rather than two separate individuals.

Due to the toxic relationship with some of Tony`s family, we do not allow people know where we live. Now we find this place to be home and its our peace and quiet.
However, we will meet with some family members for dinner out at a restaurant, or if they invite us to their home. Most people understand and let us be, others are forever in search of this place so they can start the same crap all over again.

That's a very funny sign!
I'd definitely put it up my front door just for laughs!

@JudyEv I don't think anyone would be offended. If they are indeed my relatives, they'd understand my sense of humor.

I think my parents would secretly want this sign though they'd never actually put it up . I wouldn't actually put it up either . . . but if I did, I'd put "SELECT Friends and Relatives Always Welcome . . . All the rest by appointment only" .

If i put it in our front door, all my relatives would not show up anymore and they will talk negatively about me anywhere they met with our relatives! I would be blacklisted!

I can imagine that some people would be very upset and offended to see such a sign. It depends on a person's sense of humour I guess.

I don't really have visitors, friends or relatives, so makes no difference to me! Everyone is always welcome, though.

@JudyEv I don't think I would put it up either. As for saying I don't really have visitors, my sister just popped round unexpectedly to ask me to do something with her!

@JudyEv it's ironic that we can be more patient and generous with friends, yet we're expected to always be there for family.

I would love to but would have to make it in Hebrew, but, probably wouldn't. It does say a lot to me and made me think who I would not want to come to my door. People would bother me if I put that sign up so could not. Too bad. It is perfect.

That's a funny sign, but yes, sometimes it can be true. Most of the time, anyone is welcomed to my house, but I prefer not at night as I am trying to let my kids sleep early at night. People here sleep very late, usually after 10pm. Sleeping at 12am is normal, even for a young kid.
As I am homeschooling my children, so I hope my friends or relatives do give us a call or make an appointment before they come, so I can arrange our lesson time. Otherwise, my kids will surely be disturbed. I did tell my mom about this, as she brought my nephews to visit us three days in a row without letting us know earlier, and I really had to make this clear to her.

It is difficult if visiting so late at night is the norm. People don't tend to do that here.

'tis most rare to get visitors 'f any sort here. did 've a giggle o'er that sign though. i'm thinkin' if'n the kin from the hills came, i'd prolly jest ignore 'em bein' 't the door.

I'm unable to "like" this (this phone I'm using,) but only a couple of neighbors come over.
