Is it Past your Bedtime? Do you stay up late just to stay up late?

I usually turn into a pumpkin after 11:00 p.m. and here I am still at the computer. I need to get to bed soon. We have our grandson spending the night and he is up early. Why do we push ourselves to stay up late when we are tired? Do you do this too?

Women Working Sign - women working sign
I'm doing it right now... I'm exhausted, but I stay up late because I feel like all I do is work my life away if I don't take a little time for myself when I get home (I just got home from work). I'll be going to bed reeeeeally soon though because I'm starting to get mushy:P

I push myself because I am an insomniac. If I do not push myself, then I will lay there and do the darkness stare! Ever do the darkness stare? You swear you can hear every single creak and pop in the house! Then you start to hear your bedmate's breathing...it gets ery annoying. Forget it if he starts to snore!!! You start poking him and pushing him to rollover. By the time you get him to stop snoring, he is awake and looking at you very pissed! LOL Forget it! I will stay up late! Cause otherwise, I will be the one kicked out of bed! hahahahahahaha

Girls don't snore? Says who? I know for a fact I snore. I've woken myself with my own snoring and my husband says I snore, and my sister won't share a room with anyone because she admits that she snores. Women do snore.

I usually stay up until about 12:00 playing the computer or watching t.v. I usually don't get to get on the computer until about 10:00 though.

I periodically come to the computer. We spend more time at the pc at night than the day.

Well its morning where I live and I just got up around an hour ago.... My daughter who is five has never slept well and I being a pushover parent with her have never taught her to go to sleep on her own.. I know I know...she is just so busy during the day that if I can get her to sit and watch television around 9:00, something like clifford or a good movie such as felicity from the american girl collection she tends to go to sleep fairly well... I then get up and do what I need to around the house such as a load of laundry, dishes, pick up the mess from the day and a few minutes on the computer so i crash around 11:00 pm as I have to be up and get ready for work the next morning. Well anyhow sometimes when I lay down with her to get her to go to sleep, I am just so exhausted that I crash at 9:00 also and just don't get up...I have no problem sleeping... If I layed down on the bed right now I could crash within a half hour....even though I just slept for 9-10 hours.... Not sure why..

When my grandson was staying with us he would ask me to lay down with him when he needed a nap or was ready for bed. I never kept my eyes open for more than 10 minutes.

We got involved on the pc late one night forgetting that we had to get up early with the grandson! It was hard to get out of bed the next morning.

If I am tired, I just go to bed. I don't care if it is 8pm. LOL Normally I do stay up pretty late, at least until midnight.

I do the same thing, I always say I'm going to bed early but I end up watching tv or playing mylot into the wee hours. The kids usually get up around 7 or so.

Well, it's almost 2am. I did go to bed but couldn't sleep so I got back up again. It's the nature of my illness really. Even though I took my sleeping pill I still couldn't sleep. The experts say give it 15 minutes and if you can't get to sleep then get up and do something. I give it half an hour. I have to agree with the poster who talked about hearing every sound in the night. I'll check on my kids a couple of times when I can't sleep. I think the computer is what keeps me up and I should really stop pushing myself. I have trouble getting up the next day. But I do want my time and that is usually after 10pm when the other members of this household are asleep (or at least in bed). I also want to find time to read too. Sometimes I'm up late just doing laundry. Tonight, I'm just here and I should go back to bed.

I always do this. I don't know why but I can be so tired and yet I will sit here making myself stay awake. I do this until I can't go any longer. Its crazy. LOL

I go to bed around 11:30 or so. If I have company, yes we will push to stay up even when we are tired. It is done to spend as much time as possible with the people you care about.
