Dissapointment At The Eye Doctor's Office

Dissapointment At The Eye Doctor's Office Last morning I went to have my eyes checked again after 2 cataract surgeries in order to get new glasses. I told my doctor that I wasn't very happy with the results of the surgeries. After examination, he told me why. Apparently I belong to the group of about 30% of people who have their cataracts removed, and begin to have some trouble again. It is called "capsular opacification" and needs to be removed by laser. He told me within 6 months in my case. So,it turns out that I was right, I wasn't complaining for nothing. Very dissapointed about that.

@marlina I'm hoping you won't need them after your next procedure. What a bummer that you have to go through it again.

Oh, so sorry things turned out that you were right. Does that mean you'll have to undergo surgery again? Tough.

I followed all the instructions, has nothing to do with that. It happens to about 33% of patients.

Sounds like a bad-news-good-news thing: Bad news, you still can't see well but good news, it's fixable. What a disappointment that the journey still isn't over. Hang in there kiddo.

Further treatment after having cataract surgery is guaranteed to be seriously disappointing news. However, at least it is laser treatment, which is non intrusive and should not be a problem.

I thought there was something wrong as everybody that had the surgery are saying that they are seeing so well. Not the case here.
