Time for some laughs. Who is your favorite funny person?

Do you have a favorite comic, male or female, you find hilarious? Perhaps a particular stand up performer, TV sitcom star such as Jerry Sienfeld, a Saturday Night Live alumni or movie comedian. We all have different tastes in what tickles our funny bone. The funniest person in the world may be your crazy uncle. I have never been into stand up comedy despite seeing all the greats on Johnny Carson. If I had to pick an act to see, it would either be Steve Martin during his heyday or the one and only master of insults, Don Rickles. As for sitcoms, Lucille Ball hands down. “I Love Lucy.” Enough said. When it comes to movies, I go with the surreal insanity of the Marx Bros: Groucho, Harpo and Chico. When thinking favorite comic, the first name popping into mind is the late great Benny Hill. I am sure many of you remember the sensation of his show being syndicated in the US during the 80s. The British comic was a throwback to old fashioned vaudeville with ribald humor and endless sexual puns and double entendres. He was never dirty or obscene being like an overgrown naughty boy winking mischievously at the audience. Benny Hill was hysterical. Who makes you split your sides?
Another Classic from the.. Master! Benny Hill, Comedy, Handyman. Either Way.. One Of The Best!

My favorite comedian, Andy Hamilton, does most of his work on radio or script writing, I'd be surprise if he was known outside the UK
Comedy series set in Baltimore just before the American Revolution

I like comedians in general, however, I am not sure I have a favorite one. Although not a comedian per se, Jimmy Kimmel is pretty funny, I enjoy him. He can be a little nasty. but he is funny.

It's hard for me to believe Kimmel is a big TV star. For years I listened to him as Jimmy the Sports Guys on a local radio station. He was just a guy form the Valley where I live who did sports and a few comedy bits.

I adore Mark Lowery. He sings with the Gaither Vocal Band (contemporary Gospel), but he's also a stand-up comic. He proves you don't have to talk dirty to be hilarious. And of course, Lucille Ball was super.

When I was younger I would sneak up late at night and watch Benny Hill! If I had been caught, my mama would have switched my behind. I have always enjoyed Benny Hill and Rodney Dangerfield from the older set of comedians. I also take a shine to Jeff Foxworthy, Jeff Dunham and Ron White. Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac (RIP), Cedric the Entertainer and Gabriel Iglesias round out the guys on my list. For women, we have Lucille Ball, Carol Burnette, Vicki Lawrence, Joan Rivers and Betty White are a few that I adore. I don't really see many acts with women in them these days on the nationally recognised level. I think that is a shame.

I like Jeff Dunham mostly because it is funny and clean humor my kids enjoy as well because of his puppets. Stand up comics like Gabriel Iglesias is another good stand up comic who is great for people of all ages. There are so many to choose from I guess what kind of humor you are in the mood for also plays a big part in deciding who you want to watch.

I can never think of anyone when I'm put on the spot like this but we have some great Australian comedians that I enjoy watching. Mary-Ann Fahey, Wendy Harmer, Maurie Fields, Hamish and Andy are some.

The only Aussie comedians I can think of are Paul Hogan who had a comedy TV show prior to Crocodile Dundee and Shane Bourne whom I only know from dramatic series but apparently is a well known stand up.

I find most comedy today is really not funny at all, just stupid. My very favorites included Bill Cosby (such a shame he's such a creep), Carol Burnett, Jonathan Winters and Victor Borge. They were extremely witty, creative and sooooo very funny! I did like Whose Line Is it Anyway.
