How do you make money online?

I've been working a couple of PTC sites for quite a while, now one of the most profitable and reliable one is no longer using PayPal. I've enjoyed these places, I also do a few survey sites but they seem to never reach payout. What is the newer way to earn online? It seems like PTCs are on the way out. I don't want to write articles, rely on referrals, and I certainly don't expect to get rich.

I gave up on the typical survey sites. I got tired of long surveys that only paid a few cents. I have since found another site that uses all the survey sites but pays decent money. The surveys are mostly $.50 and up to $3.00 and sometimes more. The catch is that they don't pay until you reach $50. I have made $100 here and working on my next payout. They pay via PayPal. I don't know the newer way/s to make money online, or at least none that have caught my attention.
In answer to how I make money online, I proofread mostly. However, I do want to get back to testing apps and sites for money. I also want to start using Prolific Academic again (a survey site that pays fairly well, with surveys that are quite interesting).

I used to work so hard doing articles, paid posting etc but like you said I think some of these things are coming to an end. I've only recently returned to MyLot so can't really give any help. Maybe looking into dropshipping, amazing affiliation programs...
