Absent because of her Birthday

It was my mom's birthday yesterday. They were cooking some noodles, rice porridge and some dishes. Noon came and mom's friend also a retired teacher along with her husband and daughter with grandchildren. Then my brothers with their wives and children came in later. Having such a great lunch. She was supposed to have only one cake but other visitors who came by also gave her cake. When she left for a bit while for her activity at the village office, I started giving out foods to the tenants. We had another family pictorial. It felt awkward because it showed my recent weight gain. Then, they went to the roof again and pluck the green mangoes. Her friends from the organization came with another cake. They sang her happy birthday and had some chat. She was also happy because the of the messages she got from facebook which was overwhelming.
