Facebook and Apple made their owners very rich and that is probably the main reason that their names are well known. There are many more sites which are nearly as well known - Yahoo Answers is one - but whose 'inventors' or owners are not names on everyone's tongue.
The owners of myLot (I believe that there is more than one) have not become wealthy through it, so they are not 'famous'. and probably don't want to be. I, for one, prefer to respect their privacy.

that does not mean you do not know their names.Inventors are inventors irrespective of their economic condition.
