My Used But New To Me Truck

Some of you already know as I mentioned this on Facebook, 1996 Chevy Tahoe. I finally bought me a vehicle. It is an older truck. It does have a few issues but it is bought and paid for. It is the first vehicle I have owned in about 4 years. As of the 3rd of April, I plan to get it road ready by getting license plates and title done. Down the road, I plan to buy two new mirrors and replace tires, two at a time. Plus, the tailgate. The tailgate is not the proper one for this truck. So, it will stick. Hard to open or close. I plan to look in a junkyard for a tailgate for the year I have. I am excited. When was the last time you got a new vehicle? What was it?

I would own another one of those if we could afford one again. I enjoy those mini-vans the most, I think.

@Morleyhunt I like them. They easily fit all shapes and sizes of people and you have extra storage in the back or in the middle even for longer trips if the family isn't too big. With a caravan or mini-van you even have room to invite extras.

@MarshaMusselman it's a bit of a joke...when our extended family gets together the parking lot is full of caravans.

@LovingMyBabies We do not really need a driving license here in small Switzerland.

Well, my husband and I have been buying Brand new vehicles now for quite some time, and it has been a blessing. We did used to trade in more often than we are going to be able too this time but we have either bought New Subaru Forresters are a Toyota Prius. The one we own now is a 2012, and was 3 yrs old this last December.

I have not had any new vehicle yet. Even when I could afford to get a new one, I always got older ones. My dream car is a 1970's era camero to Firebird. My fiance car is 2011 Kia.

We are getting a Ford F150 on Friday. Hubby managed to get it financed through a bank. I told him he would have to get it in his name under his credit because I didn't want the burden of another loan. He said he has it under control. I of course worry. It is a 2014 with 14,000 miles on it, so it is a newer vehicle, with a warranty too. That is a plus! Kudos on the new to you vehicle. Paid for is better than owing on it!

In 2012 I bought a 2013 Subaru Forster. I had inherited some money and had a old 22 year old car so I bought a brand new one. Paid cash for it and it is the best car I have ever owned.

I am happy you was able to do that. That is a great way to spend money.

@rusty2rusty We figured it would be the last new car that we would be able to buy since we were going to retire in a few years,

Thank you. Aren't KIA's great? That is what my fiance' has bene driving. I don't think it is a soul but it is around the same year you got. I love how they save on gas mileage.

Very nice! Hope you get it running the way you'd like soon. I bought a new car a year ago, it's a 2016 Honda Accord Sport.

We just got a vehicle last week! It's a 99 Ford Expedition. Your vehicle looks really nice too. I hope you get lots of use out of it. Congrats! =)

The twenty year old mini-van we just took to the junk yard we bought when it was ten years old and that was in 2007. Before the middle of next month we'll be looking for something to replace it with to use for our window cleaning business. I'm waiting until I get one more paycheck with my disability pay and then we'll go to our credit union to see if our credit is as good as it used to be. We're hoping to find something about like yours but five grand or under that. We need to be able to put a roof rack on the top to hold one six foot ladder and three larger ones. It also needs to be big enough for supplies on the inside and two to three passengers. We'll start looking once we see what we qualify for at the bank this month. My one and only new vehicle, I think, was my first car I got when I was nineteen. It was a Ford Pinto, lime green I think. Although, in the eighties I may have bought a new Chevy too, but I can't quite remember the model of that one it's so long ago.

I literally don't remember the year of the last time I bought a new vehicle. 1991 or 92 maybe? Definitely last century. I've only had 3 cars in my life. Bought 2 new, then inherited my current. I dread replacing it, but it's a 1999 and won't live forever.
