Don't forget a cushion

I hope I haven't put this photo up before. It's hard to keep track sometimes. This park bench is in Nannup in Western Australia and has been created from a heap of small pieces of hardware. Maybe most are bicycle parts. There seems to be a lot of sprockets and roundy things that might be from bikes. And I like the way the creator has blended the industrial world with the natural world by enclosing all the parts into a leaf shape. However, it doesn't look the softest of seats. I'd be taking a cushion along with my book and coffee.

It may not be comfortable to sit on but the bench is very stylish and imaginative.

A big, fat, comfy cushion, a good book and a big cup of coffee.

That may be the prettiest park bench that I have ever seen

That certainly is a interesting bench and I don't remember seeing it before. You're right when you say you'd need a cushion as it doesn't look very comfortable.

Wrought iron seats and benches are rarely comfortable although they look good.

I don't remember this photo. The bench is pretty. It looks like lace from afar.

I'm glad it's 'new'. I have a lot of posts to paddle back through now but mostly I search for keywords I think I might have used.

I love it! That's funny , before I read the article I thought to myself how it looks like bicycle parts. It is beautiful, but, perhaps not the most comfortable.

It would be unique wouldn't it? Got any spare bikes laying around?

I would worry that my long hair would get caught in the backrest. Guess I would have to put it up in a bun to avoid that.

@JudyEv it is catchy to the eye though. Very creative piece of work.

That could happen very easily with such a conglomeration of bits and pieces.

I love this bench. It is so creative. I do not recall seeing this picture of yours before but I could have missed it. It does look like it might be a bit uncomfortable to sit on for long so it would just be a nice place to sit when we need just a few minutes to rest.

@JudyEv yes that is why I never buy cushions or chairs that need cushions for outside use as I hate sitting down and getting a wet bottom.

The ones that need cushions are a bit of a pain (pardon the pun). I always forget to bring the cushions in out of the weather or forget to take them out with me. :)

I guess it does but Nannup is in timber country so I assumed it was a leaf. I guess it's also just an interesting shape. :)

@JudyEv Yeah it's probably a leaf.. I guess it's open to interpretation.

Without cushions, you wouldn't be wasting much time there - which might be a good thing.

Yes, chainrings, cassette rings, and pedal cranks. I'd totally buy that if I could afford it. But yeah, a cushion would be most necessary!

Don't you have enough spare bikes to make your own? I guess you need a welder too. Do you have night classes there? Men's Sheds?

@teamfreak16 We have enough bits and pieces around the place too though not of bikes but we'd be hopeless at creating something artistic too.

@JudyEv - I did, at one time, own four bikes. But I couldn't make something like that. I'm not very artistic.

A cushion will be needed most definitely - it is beautiful to look at but it won't be very easy on the seat.

Dainty looking piece of art and certainly not for sitting - not for me anyway as I would surely forget to take a cushion

Well, hopefully, the paint or some coating makes the surfaces smooth so as not to snag your clothing... or your cushion.
