Bungalows, Earworms, and Girlfriends

I'm not sure why I included the word Bungalow. The word has just been running through my head. I've had lots of odd things running through my head. Most have been songs. I guess the modern term is earworm. We used to just say we had a song stuck in our head. "Life's A Dance" by John Michael Montgomery was the first one. It started playing in my head after one of my students asked me if I'd had a girlfriend when I was in seventh grade. Then it was "The Ballad of the Green Beret" after I talked to another student who wants to join the Army when he graduates high school. It seems like I have a penchant for matching a song to just about anything. What song was your latest earworm?

Now that is a good one. Of course, working with children, the Sesame Street Version "Letter B" has now jumped to my mind.

Yes, Let It Be, especially the verse about Mother Mary, often comes to mind. Even though I know it was about Paul's mother, and not the Virgin Mary, I still attribute it to the latter.

@DWDavis Good for you. That earworm thing can be quite a nuisance.

I find that if I look the song up on youtube and play the whole thing, it helps make the earworm go away.

Scarborough Fair because I just had a newborn baby daughter less than two weeks ago and I wrote some words for her that are meant to be sung with the tune of Scarborough Fair. I wrote songs for my other two children and so of course I had to come up with something for my third born. Why did I pick this melody? Before our baby was born I tried several melodies from other songs out on my wife but she did not like any of them until she heard Scarborough Fair. Once she settled on that melody I added the words.

I could not tell you my most recent. They come and go. Perhaps Old MacDonald as I am preparing farm themed art stations for a student. It sounds as if you have a sound track for your life. I am suddenly hearing the theme from "Summer of Forty Two"

I read the book "Summer of Forty-Two" and saw the movie, but I don't remember the theme. I always felt a strong kinship with Hermie.

This morning it's been the song "Everybody", I'm not sure who it's by, but it's a 90's dance hit. I probably heard it on the radio yesterday..

@DWDavis No, that's the cupid shuffle! I don't usually hear this song anymore, but I play the 90's station on my satellite radio, so it must have been on yesterday.

My husband and I were working a 2000 piece puzzle last night and listening to music, when I went to bed I couldn't get Back in Black by AC/DC out of my head.

@thislittlepennyearns It is among my top 5. My favorite of Kenny's is still Anything But Mine because it reminds me of a girl I met at the beach right after high school graduation. My friend and I were staying at the same beach club she and her family were staying at. We spent every moment of the week together that we could, and then she left and I never saw her again.
