When People Ask "What Do You Do?"

When I was unemployed I usually say "I am preparing for the interviews or waiting for the call for" or sometimes I say like "I am taking rest and maintaining my body to be fit for the work" like that. Even sometimes I say "I am waiting for my dream job."

I am employed but still don't always know what to tell people when they ask what I do! You see, I do different things and I end up spending ages explaining that, and telling people about what I actually do! When I've been unemployed, I have often volunteered so I would say that. And I'm a mum so I might have, occasionally, said that when asked what I do! I know people think that, if you're unemployed (or even if you're self-employed or part-time employed) that you just sit around doing nothing all day but I know very few unemployed people who actually do 'nothing'. So, if you volunteer or if you care for a family member, say so. It's still a valid job even if it's not a paid one.
