Mustn't forget the bottle-tops

We are going to a music festival near Pinjarra, Western Australia next weekend. The link gives more information about it. We have been going for some years now and it is always fun. We will be camping there for four nights. However among all the things we mustn't forget the most important will be the bottle-tops. You're not supposed to take alcohol into the festival grounds at all. There are a couple of licensed venues on the grounds and there are security guards at the entrances to these venues. We always have a little chat to these guys. You'll find out why soon. Our laws state that you can't take away any alcohol from those areas, not even half-drunk bottles of wine. This means that if you want to leave the licensed area to see a different group elsewhere, you have to abandon your bottle or finish the contents, which makes a mockery of responsible drinking. Who is going to leave behind a half-drunk, quite expensive bottle of wine? To make it difficult for people to take their wine with them, the bar-tenders remove the bottle-top (all our wine bottles are now screw-tops) and put it in the bin. If you do try to take the wine out with you, the bottle is going to spill everywhere. So old, clever, experienced people like our group now take a couple of caps with us. We put the bottle in our backpack, smile cheerily at the security guy on the gate and go on our merry way. Sometimes, the law makes rogues out of normally honest people. The photo is of our name-plate at our front gate which I promised I'd put up.
Next weekend we are heading to a music festival in an tiny historic 'village' near Pinjarra in Western Australia. Fairbridge was once home for dozens of orphan...

@JudyEv Most of them are.Because these days I come across such very good persons who turn mischievous or tricky just because of the circumstances.

@silvermist I hope you're talking about me. I'd like to be a very good person. It's just the circumstances that get in the way.

@JudyEv That's so thoughtful. Ask Vince to be prepared too, or else he might get tensed and confused and things might just go out of hands.

As I mentioned to someone else, you get very cunning as you get older. You may not be so physically strong any more so you have to do more thinking to get things done.

Having licensed areas is okay. It keeps the drunks in one place. It's the stupid laws that need revising. Isn't it funny? I have no trouble breaking the law if I think it is 'wrong'.

The first time we came across it Vince coaxed the barmaid into accidentally dropping a bottle-top on his side of the bar. But we don't like to involve 'accessories' so we'll take our own bottle-tops. I already have enough for our friends too.

Very innovative. This is the kind of 'common sense' thing I would do. I don't see this as cheating or breaking the law. What kind of law (or norm) is that anyway? Things must first make sense.

I agree completely. As I said in another comment. I have no trouble being underhanded with something like this as it is just silly.
