Kids in Bubbles

We attended our local Apple Festival today (Easter Saturday) and had fun walking round the various exhibits. Children were well catered for and we were intrigued with this 'ride' that we hadn't seen before. The child was put into the bubble which was then filled with air. Then the bubble was pushed out into the 'lake'. It looked a lot of fun but I wasn't brave enough to ask the weight limit of the bubbles!
I like to give value for reading and this is a bit short so here is an add-on. We are both getting more and more deaf although I'm sure Vince is deafer than I am. Anyway when I told him the musicians playing were an 'acoustic trio', he thought I'd said 'two stick trio'. It would be funny if it wasn't just a bit tragic. But I'm going to start writing down examples of where we hear 'wrong'. Some are hilarious.

My husband and I have trouble hearing as we age as well. It is a sign of aging darn it anyways. Sounds like you had a great time there.

@fishtiger58 We've found parties aren't as much fun as they used to be as, like you, we can't hear when there is too much noise. It's a pity your husband won't seek help as there has been huge advances recently.

@JudyEv My hubby has had ear problems for years, he just turned 60. I keep telling him to go get help for his ears, but he is convinced there is no help for him. For me it's only if two things are going on that I have problems hearing either.

Good idea to write down those things we hear wrong. I am in stitches sometimes after my husband tells me what he thought I said.
I saw a group in those bubbles. They had their legs out and they were running around playing soccer. But when they chose, they could pull their legs in and go rolling down the field! It would make me ill, I think.

Laughing at oneself will help one get on.
And about the weight that bubble can take surely there must have been calculations

I'd like to try this bubble ride. I have seen similar ones in here.
I remember my grandpa who lost his hearing. When he was still alive, I opted to write the things I wanted to tell him and sometimes act it.

@JudyEv No he did not like the idea of wearing it. And he said it's expensive.

@jobelbojel They are excessively expensive here too which is one reason why we haven't bought them yet. The companies are being investigated over the prices they are charging.

That looks like wonderful fun. It's great that the community is so into the children and having fun. As for the lac of hearing, my hubby and are both beginning to lose a lit of it. We sometimes misunderstand each other and it gives us a little giggle. I think it would make wonderful post for you to write about.

You made me laugh out loud - thanks for that... so far in our house the ears are still working. I have seen those bubbles on TV and thought they looked like a ton of fun...but you have to wonder how long the air lasts...or how it continues to work..

The bubbles had a zip. The guy would stick the kid in, zip it nearly closed then put in a thing like a vacuum cleaner hose and blow it up before zipping it fully closed. It only took a short while to blow up. I'm glad your ears are still working.

I'm glad you can look at your hearing situation with humor. My own hearing isn't what it was. Sometimes things just sound garbled and other times I'll mis-hear something. I have to use the closed captioning on my TV, not because I can't hear the actors but because I cannot understand them!
Those bubbles look like so much fun!

Ahh to be young again and have fun in those bubbles! As for the miscommunication with hearing my mom and I would go through the same thing. She'd hear something different than what was being said and we'd !augh

hahaha! sometimes we don't hear the right word verbalized by the one whom we are communicating with. i still recall the word i apparently heard on that song SOUVENIRS. it is an upbeat music and you can dance the swing.
i mistakenly uttered THROUGH THE YEARS instead of SOUVENIRS, which my kid brother rectified me, laughing hard.
