Cat's have an amazing sense of awareness when it comes to sleeping places. They seem to know when potential new spots of comfort are introduced into the house. In this case it's a new duvet inner and cover, all very soft and inviting. Smooch had no hesitation in choosing this as today's bed of preference. He'll no doubt be there for most of the day. Tomorrow another spot will take his fancy. Meanwhile he's sent out his do not disturb signals and I shall duly honour them.

He is his own sign, we know when he's sleeping like this it means disturb me at your own risk.

Smooch is looking quite comfy! So cute! Doodles does the same, but prefers to sleep next to me wherever I am in the house. Needless to say, we have blankets and beds in every room.

Lol, I was actually still in bed when Smooch jumped up there. He too likes to be close to us, but while he's soundly sleeping he hasn't noticed I've moved.

If only we could just amble in somewhere and say hey, this looks good, I think I'll take a nap.

I am not so sure that its the fact that they can sense the best sleeping places... I think that cats can be comfortable almost anywhere.

Wouldn't it be nice to always be able to sleep like a cat does? Ours sometimes seem to drop where they are and take a snooze.

They certainly do favor soft and secure places. Mine is asleep on the dining room chair right now. He likes it because it is partially covered by the table cloth making a nice little nap spot.

i used to have a cat who would circle on top of my stomach, fluff my belly gingerly with his claws and cuddle up to sleep on top of me. it used to bug the he11 out of me, but now that hes long gone, i miss it.

My cat when she does not feel safe finds places way inside somewhere where she feels safe so she can be alone for awhile. She likes to sleep in my lap, in cushions, on the bed.
