Hey guys have you ever made a silly spelling mistakes in any of your discussions and realized it long after you have posted it? I have, and that to mostly in all the discussion posted till now. The silliest was which I did was yesterday I wanted to spell plants and instead it became pants. The whole meaning of the sentence changed and it was online for a long time till my wife rectified it for me. Believe me it was really embarrassing what the meaning of the sentence turned out because of the silly mistake. All those who read and realized it must have had a great laugh at my Plants becoming Pants. Image Credit:- Pixabay Free Image Data Base.

Oh haha that is quite the difference one letter can make in that situation. I make typos quite often (fat fingers on a smart phone) so I probably have done similarly.

@maezee True a single word and a serious statement becomes a joke. If you say you have fat fingers then what I should be having because I used the keyboard while typing the discussion

@nitirrbb7 Some people don't like having their mistakes pointed out so I'm careful who I correct. If there is ever a next time for you, I'll tell you.

many times do i have misspelled words, and i usually edit them when i come across those notifications.
I believe this is taking most of my time when I am here in this site: I keep on editing my discussions and comments. The keyboard of the desktop has some...

@nitirrbb7 actually, that is true. i am not a native English speaker, so i have many flaws as regards the English language, but we can try to be near-perfect on that.

@ridingbet So its common and no one is exclusive, we all do make some or the other mistakes. Only at times it could just be a faulty keyboard which is actually not to blamed.

I don't actually make very many errors but it has happened. Typos and spelling mistakes don't matter much here though...what sometimes happens is people misunderstand what someone has written and that can lead to problems

I'm not sure if this has ever happened to me, because I always try to make sure my discussions or responses are error-free. I always reread my text to see if I have made any mistakes or if I should formulate something differently.

i have done that a few times. Mostly now I try to re read my post before I hit the POST button. But sometimes of course if the misspelled word is an ACTUAL word.. you don't see the little red line to correct it. And if you read fast. you might just read what you think you should have written.. It happens to the best of us.

@minx267 Actually I do prefer rereading what I wrote, but the very next moment my over confidence lacks me to do so. See what exactly happens is what you wrote is what your mind confirms is right so even if you read it again there will be very less chance that you will actually catch the mistake. If you let it read by someone else then that person might surely catch it.

@TiarasOceanView thank god you catch them before they are caught, but I think sometimes you just have to let go it for sometime, so that people can have a great laugh at it and enjoy. I don't mind making a fool out myself until it brings a huge smile on someones face. Just like my plants became pants and I pour water in them.

@nitirrbb7 Nitin, I find that my thoughts get ahead of me and I will write not the right word at times but the wrong one or the same word twice when I wanted to write something else.

@Hannihar Yeah actually we do that way most of us even I at times we are writing something and thinking of something else. Its actually our mind has so many different subjects to tackle that its constantly in multitasking state fumbling and jumbling all together. And the fact is our mind doesn't read the whole word in a statement it just reads the first and last letter and assumes what it means and completes the statement so most of the times our own mistakes just skip by.

@Hannihar Actually we all think the same way once we encounter some of our silly mistakes that I should be more cautious before proceeding next time. But the fact is the cautiousness never stays by for long, even if you go through it at the very moment your brain might not catch that mistake because its in a state that what we have written is write so no need to cross check, we always realize it when all on MyLot have a good laugh at it but never point it out.
