Are humans intentionally manipulating or altering the weather?

I was talking about the bad weather (storms, tornadoes, fires, etc) in the recent years with a friend and she said that humans are intentionally manipulating, modifying or altering the weather. Have you heard that and is it really possible that we have that capacity these days? I know that Jesus had that capacity but humans?

Where in the Bible did you find something about Jesus' weather making capacity?

Matthew 8:23-27 New International Version (NIV) 23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

We humans do have an effect on it my our misuse of the planet's resources and not switching over to renewables as quickly as we could.

That is true but my friend said that we are causing the bad weather by more diabolical means. I am going to do a search and see if what she mentioned has any validity.

Individual may not have the ability, but the collective effort of all humans is able to destroy the weather pattern. The fact that humans use cars, ships and planes shows that we are capable of destroying the balance in the planet. All these modern inventions plus the industrial uses contributed to a change in weather pattern directly or indirectly.

There are several things. The Hadron Collider (particle accelerator) causes earthquakes. Also using sonic waves to kill and explode birds in the air and fish in the water. This device would be similar to an atomic bomb except that it would only kill the humans inside locations without devastating the buildings in war areas. This item has been used in the USA @1hopefulman .

Do you think scientists have invented something to cause hurricanes, tornadoes, rainstorms or snowstorms?

@nanette64 My friend was saying that the bad weather is being caused deliberately. What do you think of that?

@1hopefulman I do. It would not be a far stretch to say that since we have missile capabilities from space and/or space stations, that they can't be launched and exploded into the atmosphere causing problems.

I don't really believe that this is possible although they do 'cloud-seed' in Australia to try to make it rain.

I do think that we have invented ways to make the weather worse. Are we actually doing it? I don't think so.

They are able to create more rain by shooting silver iodide into the air and clouds. California has filled up their water tables using this. Some places have reduced the size of hail to stop them from damaging crops. They are very close to heating the planet mars for habitation. Wonder what's next. The weather is definitely being controlled.

Deforestation and pollution which is done by humans do have some effect on the weather.

That was already done, the weather modification was called "cloud seeding" to increase rain or snow. Weather modification in warfare has been banned by the United Nations, but how can be sure that every country respects. During the 2008 Olympics, China shoot various chemicals into the clouds in the hope to stop rain.

Every time man has tried to manipulate the weather it's been problematic. I don't think they have any control. They have enough trouble getting the forecast right.

There are places that are able to conduct the weather, I cannot remember the city name but there is a place that can make their own rain storms to help their farming. Fumes in the air, mass amounts or very little people, cars, they can all also manipulate weather. so it may not be done with a big ol' satellite like in the movies, but the climate is changing and thus the weather will change as well.

I don't think that we have the power to affect the weather or climate in general. Only God can do that. I do think we need to do everything we can to be good stewards of the planet and we're not doing so well in a lot of areas although we're doing a helluva lot better than we were 50 years ago!

I agree with Kwabakwa37. We leave an imprint on this world that is more powerful than we think. We must be aware of that and make wise decisions.
