My Nephew Finally Graduates

Philippines
May 29, 2017 10:24pm CST
I just learned about it yesterday when I went to my brother's house were I delivered my sister in law's shoes. Well, he's probably graduate today from High school. But because of k-12 he might have to take grade 11 and 12. I've talk to their maid and she said that he might not have to go to college. But I'm not confident about it because this k-12 remains probably new some companies might not accept him. Time flies by. And people commenting and some asked if he's already in a relationship but I've known him a little bit to be quiet.

@Courtlynn Yes, and Even for me, K-12 remains unfamiliar. But it just add some expenses on the parents part. I had 6 years elem, 4 yrs highschool and 4 yrs college. I'm glad i didn't have to experience this.

Congratulations to your nephew - but does this mean he graduated from high school early? Out here, high school ends at grade 12 - when one is about 17/18 years old. Yep, time flies . . . it doesn't stop flying!!

@Letranknight2015 It was slightly different back in my days - but these days junior high (or middle school) is considered to be grade 6,7,8 . . . and high school is 9,10,11,12! We didn't get a junior prom.

Not all schools acknowledge it @shivamani10 not that I know of.

@shivamani10 , The problems are: wasting time and money, the kids find it a boredom and parents a burden.Their children will have another 4-5 or 6 years in college. The will graduate a course already old.

Some companies accept those who finished the 12th grade because they are considered as vocational graduates (short course), but he can enroll in college too.

Hello @acelawrites Okay, that's a bad idea, he should enroll in College. What a waste of added two years.

I'm surprised myself @prashu228 they had this debate about the k-12 back in 2010 but I never got the chance to really understand it until these days.
