20 movies and most of them I hated.

We go to the local library off and on and sometimes I will choose a random 10 DVD or Blu Ray Videos to take home and watch. This week was the worst ever. I hate it when I choose movies without first looking long and hard at the reviews on the back and at least look for a familiar actor. Out of the 20 movies we watched this week, only one of them was worth watching, IMO.

Which is why I prefer free streaming sites on the internet.

The library has many foreign movies with subtitles. Not good for me to have to look at when I really want to see the actors and not the words in large bold text. Also some of the movies are not high budget ones. There are many movies made that are merely flops.

It is good then that they were free to check out. I would be so aggravated if I paid for that many movies and they were all stinkers.

The pawn shops are full of 2 dollar deals. Many people will buy one for 2 bucks then watch them and turn them in as a trade for new ones. At a dollar or two each even that is a great bargain.

Ah well, that sucks. But at least you just borrowed them instead of bought them.

Yes, I agree. Glad I can get to watch anything without buying them. I appreciate the library for their movies and documentaries but I do need to read the titles and the details before just assuming they would be all that great. There are movies and there are one time wonders.

Thats libraries for ya, granted, I have found many a good movie at the library, but I too have seen a lot of low budget flops too. The reason behind the low budget ones it that we get them as donations, so we don't have to spend too much of the library budget on the more popular titles of movies.

Yes, I understand a lot about the budget situation. Our local Dallas public library has trouble running the A/C in summer months and right now they are lacking in enough for basic maintenance costs.

@librarygeek1980 , Maybe the city where I live doesn't have enough funding for the electricity.

@lookatdesktop wow, I got lucky enough to work in a library where utilities are paid for by the city. But then we are city owned.

It sounds bad. Perhaps you shall check the movie rating before going to the library to borrow movie videos to home.

I have trouble finding movies I am truly interested in on Netflix. I started re watching "The Sixth Sense" last night.

I always check the trailer and wikipedia. But there are some movies that I appreciate even though they are not as good as the hollywood ones.
