OH my goodness gracious me. My grandson declares today that he does not like potatoes. I can't believe it. He must be a genetic freak! Everyone loves potatoes don't they?
They can be boiled, mashed, fried, roasted, among a few ways of cooking them. Popped in stews and casseroles to make them more hearty. They can be made into soups too.
Potatoes are a staple part of British cuisine. How could anyone not like potatoes. I love them although I must admit I only like them done in a certain way. I am not keen on chips, I am not keen on Mash although with the addition of cheese they become more palatable.
I love Lyonnaise potatoes
I love Dauphinoise Potatoes
I like Duchess potatoes.
Herbed potatoes.
Potato cake.
Saute
There are so many different ways of preparation. The strangest way I have ever eaten potatoes was when my wife made something. She served a delicious cake with a dab of rum in it. Ok a bit more of a dab but that's just being economical with the truth.
After I had finished it she asked me if I had liked it. I told her it was delicious then she dropped the bombshell telling me the main ingredient was potato. I couldn't believe it you would never have imagined.
So my question to you is do you like potatoes and what way is your favourite.
My first is Roast potatoes followed by Dauphinoise.

I am definitely with you on this one! I blame my daughter. I think she feeds them too much pasta or rice to be honest.Although I love Italy and like the food for a short while I do not think I could live on pasta as they do. To us it is not natural! As for rice I could not face Chinese food for at least six months once I came home from China!

I'm sure he will grow to love potatoes, as did my grandchildren. lol I love potatoes prepared any which way, especially potato pancakes and baked potatoes. Since white potatoes are bad carbs, I eat more sweet potatoes these days. I made purple, red, and white potatoes for our dinner on Saturday, roasted in garlic, fresh rosemary, olive oil and finished with salt and ground pepper. Mmmmmmm........

That is strange for a child - most people love potatoes. I dont know anyone in my circle of friends that doesnt eat potatoes. Does he like potato crisps? Maybe he will feel differently about the potatoes if he knows crisps are made from them as well.
First ROAST POTATOES as well and then CHIPS

Fried are probably very tasty way of eating potatoes but we tend to make our chips much larger so less fat on them than the small french fries,
