Homemade Pizza

If I asked how many of you liked pizza I'd probably get a "me, me, me" from most of you. Me, I love pizza and we usually get it from our local pizza place. Yesterday my oldest daughter came over with her two kids and my youngest daughter (who lives with me) decided to make homemade pizza. I'm not sure how they prepared it but I know they had pizza dough, pizza sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni. Since both daughters and the two grandkids were all in the kitchen making their own personal size pizzas I decided to stay out of the way and just enjoy the fruits of their labor. They all had a great time, laughing and fooling around and creating their own masterpieces. I have to say the pizza was delicious and I didn't have to lift a finger. Do you ever attempt to make your own pizza or do you stick with traditional from a pizza place?

Plus it's easy to keep track of the ingredients and not have a lot of hidden calories etc

I always make my own pizza, including the pizza dough and I cook the pizza in our wood fired pizza oven.

@Marilynda1225 Real Italian pizza must be cooked in a wood oven, or it's not considered a pizza. The previous owner of this house was from Naples (Italy), he is the one who had the pizza oven built on the side of the fireplace.

Making your own pizza including the dough must be delicious especially cooked in a wood oven. We had pizza places when I lived in New York that specialized in wood oven pizza and they tasted entirely different that conventional ovens.

When I could eat anything without having to worry about it, pizza was one of my favorite foods and I often made my own and made it exactly how I loved it. I would include onions as one of the toppings as I have always loved onions.

I haven't made a home made pizza for a long time Marilyn. What did they put on it?

On mine they put sauce and mozzarella. I didn't want pepperoni since I am watching my BP and it has way too much salt. The rest was my indulgence for the day.

@Marilynda1225 Oh it does, doesn't that old pepperoni..but I love it too Marilyn. Sorry you can't have it..I too love anchovies and can't have those either on pizza because of the salt..but now and again..

@TiarasOceanView Occasionally indulging in stuff we love is necessary but I have to get my BP lower after my doctor appointment the other morning. I didn't want to push it. Anchovies are very high in salt too but a treat now and then won't hurt

I do make my own pizza from time to time, and I think it is better than the pizza places. I have English muffins, and sauce and cheese..plus lots of olives. I think I might make a personal one one of these days.

I stick with store-bought pizza. Any attempts at cooking results in a disaster.

I make pizza once in a while, but always when the kids are around. It is a game for them as when they decorate Christmas cookies.

Some of the best times are spent in the kitchen. We like to get together to bake at Christmas time and some of my fondest memories are when I was a kid and helped my grandma in the kitchen

No, I don't like to mess with perfection, and perfection to me is dialing and ordering a pizza.

We love to make home made pizza here. We pile it high and make it really cheesy! Enjoy yours.

That must have been loads of fun! We do both, depending on our mood. We have some famous original pizza restaurants in the Italian section of a nearby city, where the pizza is even better than the pizza we've had in Italy. My husband and sons love to make pizza in our kitchen. We bought a pizza stone insert that connects to any of our double ovens and makes restaurant worthy pizza!

There are no pizza joints near us. I don't care for pizza my husband makes his own, very heavy duty stuff.

We've done both and home-made pizza can be very good as you can add so many different ingredients to it if you want to.

We buy it from pizza places more than anything. But also have frozen ones for my brother, mom and boyfriend. And we once in awhile make homemade.
