Last Day of My Stay-Cation I Got a Bit of Weeding done, and...

and while weeding the area between the ramp and my house I found a lonely yellow flower that I did not plant there. I also can enjoy the wildflowers that came up on the other side since my summer flowers have died off from the heat. Maybe they will return. I hope so, but in the mean time I have other flowers to smile over. I planted two sections in my side yard with wildflowers. The ones that are bigger in the image, I think the third image was planted first and the ones further back a week or so later. At first all there were was the delicate pink/ purple and white flowers, but finally some brighter orange ones started to bloom just recently and I see a few other new ones. I've been thinking of trying to get one more section planted between the ramp and house. That area is always overflowing with weeds. I do have a few plants there already, but it's mostly only been weeds. While weeding a bit ago I noticed a single yellow flower that I didn't plant. I weeded around that being careful not to accidentally pull the flower. I was going to get the wildflower mix out, but it's since started thundering, so it looks like I might have to wait a few more days. Tomorrow it's back to work I go, and thankfully we have a few window jobs lined up as well. Now, I have a load of laundry and dishes to attend to and then maybe back here a bit.

It's a shame when vacation time ends and we have to go back to work. I hope you are going to have good weather for your job.

It is a shame but I expect to only have five more years of working this much so it's a bit easier to go back than it used to be when I had no idea how long I'd have to work. We had a bit of rain on Monday when we were trying to work and then later in the morning the sun came out and it's been decent ever since. A bit chilly first thing in the mornings, but back into the lower eighties before mid-day.

@MarshaMusselman We are having extreme weather, 4 days of very hot weather last week. Yesterday evening it started to rain then we had a hail storm, it only lasted about 5 minutes but it did a bit of damages. I have enough of this summer.

@LadyDuck The temps are more moderate here right now. It may have gotten down to 59 last night but up to the mid-eighties in the day time without the awful humidity. We were supposed to get hail in one of the thundershowers forecast last week, but our area never got them; I don't know whether anywhere else in the vicinity did or not.

Lovely pictures of your garden. Nice to have some surprises to find around isn't it? Thanks for sharing them.

@MarshaMusselman .....That's a great idea. Take away their room and put bloom there instead.

@celticeagle That's been my plan and hope for several years now. Just need the extra time or energy to work on it more.

Thanks, I still have loads of weeds to eliminate, but as I fill areas with blooms there should be less and less weeds as the years go by.

Nice little surprises all tucked away for you to enjoy. I would think planting the wildflowers before a storm might give them enough moisture to germinate.

I actually had that in mind earlier, but once I got a bit of weeding done I decided to take a break. I'd need to weed the area a bit more yet to get the thicker weeds and roots out before getting the soil a little more ready. I didn't expect it to rain since the forecast was quite low, or maybe that was for tomorrow.

A volunteer flower, how cool. You are probably about ready to go back, huh?

@drannhh I'm happy about that too. I had three months off from the end of February until Memorial weekend and ever since having that long portion of time, (I had a knee replacement), I've been looking forward for more time off ever since. Eventually, I'll wnat to wait longer before taking more or it will be all used up before I know it.

Do you mean wanting to go back? No, I could manage more time off. I get a total of five weeks until April, but I normally take a day or two at a time year round. I rarely take off a week at a time, but I kind of liked it that way. I'm off again five extra days the end of next week into the following week as family will be visiting. Not sure what extra time I'll have then other than to fit more window work in if I can find it.

Lol, I only had one week off this time. I wouldn't expect any problems returning to work. Nor did I have any problems when I returned back to work the end of May after having time off, (three months) after the knee replacement. I'm always busy except at the end of the day when I'm playing my games. I play solitaire on Facebook's gameroom and sometimes do a puzzle every week or so and I play a different game on my phone almost daily.

@just4him It doesn't usually happen for me in the midst of my typing. I hope this won't become a new trend.

It could be a daisy or something else. There are a lot of new types these days that I'm not familiar with unless I'm the one planting them.
