Shredding paper

Japan

One thing I have been putting off for about six months is sending a bunch of documents through the shredder. I was given a hand-worked one (you have to turn the handle to operate the blades) and finally this morning I got around to starting the project. It takes a long time and energy too, so now I am taking a break from shredding! Hopefully it will be done by the end of the day! If you have to shred documents, where do you go? I used to have to take them in to a place where they do it professionally, or to the office at work. I must say, that is a lot easier than doing it by hand!

If you happen to be busy or just lazy i would suggest to let shredding services do it for you. But if have a lot of extra time. You can do it with your free time.

I think after I am done with this small batch, I will take the rest to school and use their electric machine!

Sometimes we do not shred them but we burn them.

Well, in Tokyo we aren't allowed to burn our own trash. That would be a real hazard.

I would love to have a hand operated shredder! I have an electric one and I occasionally use it. Not often but when I do, I'm glad I have it. About 3-4 times a year my city (Phoenix) has a shredding event where they will shred the first box free and charge about $5 for additional boxes.

Oh wow, I have never done it manually... I use an electric shredder where you just feed the documents and it will 'eat' them up through the shredder automatically...

I am not keen on the shredding side of things, just lately I have been burning things but when I went outside the other day I noticed something had escaped out of a bag so I now have to shred it all. I have an electronic shredder, my kids love to shred and so I let them do it for me.
