Have you ever consciously taken steps to become a nicer person?

I have a few bad habits when it comes to other people's comfort like not always taking shopping carts and discarded items back to the right place. I have decided I am going to make an effort to do that properly and I did that the last few times I was shopping. There is no reason to make work for other people because I am being lazy. Have you ever conciously taken steps to improve your impact in the world?

@Courtlynn You make a point there. A friend of mine once told me that doing things like that..keeps people employed..Cleaning up after naughty customers..

@snowy22315 oh yes. Always kind. But also see it as peoples jobs to do certain things, like get carts and return things others leave on wrong shelves. Not mine. As I'm not the one being paid for it.

I'm not perfect by far but I try to think about other's feelings when I do things. I'm sure I have hurt someone in the past, I'm human after all.

Yes, I think thinking before acting is something all of us should do..even the most innoccent things can be misinterpreted.

I do try to be a good person, but I'll admit that it's not always easy.

No, but neither do I deliberately act in a careless or harmful manner.

If I see a shopping cart not in the corral or up front at the store then I normally put it back up there. I also pick up garbage from the ground if I know a trashcan is around. I put things back in the store if I know where it belongs when they are out of place. And I hang up clothing that falls from the racks! Because I know that is always the most annoying when someone works in softlines and having to bend down 30 times hanging up clothing. The most that I do to be a better person, is to just listen. I never assume the worst of people. I listen to them, I am always an ear for people to vent to because they know I will not judge them because sometimes people just need to talk and vent and rant without being interrupted.

Having young kids, I've been conscious about doing the "right" things to set a good example. But surely I could be doing more .
