Thomas English Muffins

This mornings breakfast is a Thomas honey wheat English muffin toasted with peanut butter. When I spread the peanut butter on it while it's hot the peanut butter melts and it's delicious. To accompany my breakfast is my coffee (naturally) and a banana. I've tried store brand English Muffins but found that Thomas has the best with their nooks and crannies. Butter and/or peanut butter melt into the crevices whereas store brand doesn't. Our bread outlet had Thomas English Muffins on sale the other day for 75 cents a package and I bought 6 packages and put them in the freezer. I don't care that they were a day old and that's why they were on sale because freezing keeps them fresh and I only have to defrost one at a time. Buying them in the supermarket can be costly as they're almost $5.00 a package. Sometimes you can get them as a buy one get one free which reduces the price but it's still a chunk of change. Do you like Thomas English Muffins?

I love English muffins, but they are not available here, so I make them. I have never tried the Thomas English Muffins. I like mine with butter and a little jam, or cheese spread, I am allergic to peanuts.

@JohnRoberts crunchy peanut butter is my favorite too and when the muffin is warm it makes the peanut butter spread more easily

That is a heck of a deal on Thomas English Muffins! It would be hard to find generic muffins for .75. I have some generic ones now I got at Lidl which were about .85 I think. I don't eat them that often though. I agree that Thomas is defintely the best!

Yes I love them BUT I have to watch out about bread, jacks my sugar up. I used to shop at the bread stores all the time and always had a variety of breads and cakes in the freezer.

The bread outlets come in handy when trying to save money. I can understand your having to watch how much bread you eat for the sugar. I try not to eat too much and do my best to avoid any of the cakes they have on sale when I go to the bread outlet

@Marilynda1225 There are many goodies here too so I don´t really know maybe in Madrid someone may make them or being practical on the Coast is more likely.

@Marilynda1225 With all the varieties they have, the original seems to still make it to my home most often as my kids like them.

I'm not a brand snob but when it comes to certain things I want the "real" thing. Thomas has so many different ones to choose from these days. I also love the cinnamon raisin with cream cheese

I do like a crisp toasted English muffin, but I have a hiatal hernia that won't allow me such pleasures anymore. Anything with a lot of dough gets suck on the way down and can literally cut off my breath. So, enjoy one for me would ya? Its been a few years.

@Marilynda1225 Yeah, its rough. It has really gotten worse the last few months. I don't ever want to have the surgery, so I have made up my mind to grin and bear it.

We don't have them here but when I lived in NYC these were the only muffins I ate. Just loved them. Take a look at this link.

They don't sell English muffins on the islands so I have to settle for our wonderful, hot, baked French bread which I can buy 4 times a day.

I will only eat Thomas's English Muffins and love them with a bit of unsalted butter and jam or preserves. My husband had a whole wheat one this morning.

Thomas has the best and I've tried saving money by buying store brands but they don't cut it. I'd rather pay the extra for something good

Yes I enjoy thomas english muffins from time to time. And we buy bread and freeze it as well. Saves money and stops it from getting old before we are finished with it.
