Finally, 2 Minutes to Myself

What a wild and wonderful week this has been. I have now been a 4th grade teacher for a whole week. Teaching 4th grade in a Catholic School is so different from teaching middle school in a public school that I'm not even sure how to describe it. My colleagues have been very welcoming and helpful. The parents have been supportive and encouraging. And the kids seem excited to have a "boy" teacher. This week I also received my first 5-star review on my new book. Seeing and reading the review was a nice affirmation. I am hoping many more such positive reviews will follow. How was your week? Do you have big plans for the weekend? If you are along the path, are you looking forward to the eclipse?

Wow back to school already. We don't start until after labour day. Grade 4 students will keep you busy! Congratulations on the book.

Thanks. Yes, the students keep me busy, but their behavior is a quantum leap above the behavior of the public school students. I actually get to spend almost all my in-class time teaching the curriculum.

I'm glad that things are going well. I hope it continues to go well for you. It's always nice when the people you work with are so nice.

We still have about 2 weeks until school starts here. Lucky us! Glad things are going smoothly for you! 4th graders are a lot more fun than tweens! My youngest will be entering 4th grade this year.

I am so glad your new school and new year is starting off good. I really hope this school year will be good and rewarding for you. Yes, we live in 100 percent totality for viewing the eclipse. Our small town is expecting many visitors on Monday. All our hotels are full according to our local newspaper. I have my eclipse glasses and plan on viewing it here at the house.

My past week was a full work week too but I faced adults and not children. No I have no plans for the eclipse but I am sure to look around and not to the sun.

Are you happy thus far in your new teaching position? I know how discouraged and unhappy you were in your public school post.
