My neighbour is lovely

United Kingdom
September 14, 2017 2:09pm CST
BUT SHE HAS THE LOUDEST VOICE IN ALL THE LAND She's my third neighbour since I moved here and she's better than the last but not quite as good as the first... She's considerate, friendly, kind, and she sneaks me most of the vegetables her new boyfriend brings her from his allotment But she's got a naturally booming voice and an almighty cackle that should, by rights, have blown a hole in our adjoining wall by now. I haven't got the heart to say anything, because it would be like complaining about who she is as a person. Then again she hasn't woken Leonard up so far, if that ever happens then we might fall out rather quickly

Lily! Where hast thou been? I hate neighbours. My ideal place to live would be on an island by myself.

@LilyBeBack I think it means we cannot exist on our own. You can come and live on my island. That be nice.

No man is an island, but he can quite happily live on one. Who would think a man was an island anyway? Islands are not made of humans.

I've been procrastinating as usual :') I've avoided everything for months, but now I've finally got round to washing up and signing in to mylot

Oh my! I have a friend like that. She does have a laugh that is more like a cackle . . . and she's a knee slapper too. She's got a zillion quirky quirks . . . but none of us comment about it to her (we just joke about it behind her back ). And thank goodness she does not live next to any of us ! How is Leonard??

@LilyBeBack Awwwww . .. he's growing up! It's a fascinating age . . . enjoy it (I know people are probably telling you left and right that it's going to go fast . . . but really it DOES go fast!). We are still going through the eczema thing with my daughter who is now almost 13 - but hers didn't seem to be connected to teething (her's came about when she was about 3). Hope Leonard's teeth all come out soon - hang in their mom!!!

What she doesn't know can't hurt her :') He's marvellous! He's walking, running in fact, and starting to talk, and he's cheeky, and shall we say willful... He's just got over a bad time with teething, it wouldn't be too difficult if it didn't make his eczema flare up as well, but it seems like his teeth are the only serious trigger for his skin so it does at least give me some hope that he won't suffer with eczema once all his teeth are through It's hard to tell but as far as I can see, he's got no more than three teeth left to come out

@much2say Eczema isn't fair is it He woke up with flushed cheeks and wanting attention last night so I'm hoping this is the start of his last two back teeth coming, fingers crossed

Sorry for that. Some people are louder to cause disturbance. Hope she realizes

She's really considerate with music and stuff like that, I think she just has no idea how loud her voice is :')

The foghorn was often heard at night when I was little (the actual foghorn, that is, not a loud neighbour ) but I haven't heard it for years, maybe she's taken its place :') We're good thanks! How are you? Obviously Leonard fills my life to the brim now, but that's exactly what I've needed all these years

A good neighbour's loud voice can be compromised.
