Wrapping like it's Christmas!

United States
September 15, 2017 11:37pm CST
My niece's first birthday party is tomorrow. I am finishing up wrapping the rest of her presents. Last night, my mom + I wrapped her clothes & books. Tonight, we will tackle the toys, puzzles & misc items. I also bought some gifts for my nephew so he'll have something to open as well. I actually started accumulating gifts for her first birthday even before she was born. In the closet of my office/computer room, I have a bunch of clothes hung in the back for my niece & nephew that will be saved until it's Christmas or for future birthdays! I am well prepared. I always think of them when I am out shopping.

@infatuatedbby Lucky kid! haha I am somewhat of a planner, but sometimes I get so busy with work that even though I have the best-laid plans, I still end up waiting until the last minute to do things. It's not because I'm lazy like that, it's just that I get so busy and tied up with other things.

it's so nice of you to think of your nephew, too. the truck/camper is for him, right? wow, i haven't seen a sink and stove for kids like that. it's amazing how far toys have evolved through the years. we had clay pots and small plastic tables and chairs that folder.

The fire truck and trains (not pictured) is for my nephew along with some clothes since he just started pre-school. The truck/camper is for my niece but essentially they both can play together with these toys because most toys are aged 1-5 years old. The sink has an actual faucet for water! Not sure how that'll work but very interesting.

@infatuatedbby a real faucet with water? hmm, they'd have to play in the kitchen i guess, or the garage, or out in the yard.

You really do plan ahead! They will both be happy with the gifts. I used to love buying toys for my niece, but now that she's is a young lady she gets cash!

Heheh I hope they don't grow up too fast for cash gifts! Hehe. Their other aunt and uncle do cash gifts toward their college tuition funds, so I'm the one who does the toys/clothes/shopping & it works out!! And if it's not for any special occasion my sister usually tells me what she need and she'll pay me back.

@AbbyGreenhill Yes! I recall that and hopefully that money will be used for their college funds or something they need since you did mention they have way enough toys!

@infatuatedbby My husband's two grand kids, we started a savings account and they get money deposited for birthdays and Christmas. They don't need more toys they have more than Kids are R has! We don't see them so giving money is the best we can do.

What a nice thing to do...and shopping over time makes for a nice collection of gifts which have a lot of thought going into it instead of a hurried last minute rush

Whenever I heard about presents there is this some kind of happiness I feel. I also like wrapping gifts and give presents to my nieces and nephews but I can only do that on Christmas. And I cannot wait.
