So, anyway, last night I made one of my new favorite meals..cheeseburger salad. It turned out great, but I forgot the cheese! How do you forget the cheese in a cheeseburger salad?. Anyway, I had the leftovers tonight..and remembered the cheese, however, I forgot the buns which you are to cut up and make like croutons..Did you ever forget something important in a recipe?

@TiarasOceanView It is a really good meal I think. I use ground turkey in place of beef,,but I have made it with beef before.

Often my wife has to substitute or leave out certain ingredients but she manages to make a good alternative that is pretty much as good as the original intended recipe. If I want cheeseburger I do like to have cheese handy.

I never actually ever heard of a cheeseburger salad. I have to guess it must be quite good if you have made it and enjoy it.

Actually, I used the veggie cheese. I am not crazy about it..but it has to be used..and I am sure it is better for you.

@lookatdesktop There are lots of recipes online. I make the one that Ree Drummond "The Pioneer Woman" from the Food Network makes.

Happens to the best of us. The cheese is more important than the buns in my opinion so the latter recipe mishap is negligible.

Yeah, I could live without both of them actually..the meat mixture is fantastic with the lettuce, pickles, mustard, ketchup and barbecue sauce.

A cheeseburger without cheese sounds funny. I forgot to add the baking powder to a cake several months ago. It was not bad, but "flat".

I had some kind of coconut pie in the oven once, and forgot some essential ingredient like that..I tried to mix it in while it was baking..

If you forget the cheese you just need to call it something else!

One time, I left out the flour in a cake recipe I was making and wondered why it didn't rise right, ha ha. Then I remembered I forgot the flour but it was too late, I had already ruined the cake

Oh yes, you can also add ingredients that aren't supposed to be there. I once made French Toast in a mug and added salt, and you were not supposed to..tasted kind of yucky.
