When Love Hurts

A few days ago I was listening to someone talk about their daughter and how her life had been going these past few years. Its not that great as far as relationships but she did have several beautiful children. I remembered the first man she got involved with and seems that ended when he beat her up. Next she married an army man, had three kids and right before they split, he beat her up. Now to the latest man, something went wrong early on in this relationship, he beat her up and bad enough to knock her teeth loose. Seems her husband took her back, so they are okay right now but something is not right. While the father is blaming the men, I am looking in from outside and I cannot see every man being abusive and beating women, I think its her. The reason is because I have seen this same behavior before but it was because of drinking. The woman always wanted to beat up the man she was with when she was drunk. Some may not agree with me but I have seen men take it and take it till he gets enough, blows up and just lets a woman have it and walks off, ending it for good. Is it the right things to do? No but a man can only take so many beatings himself. I have seen the most humble men have to knock a woman off of him only for her to jump right back on him beating him with her fists. Ever seen this type of abuse?

A real man should never lay an abusive hand on a woman, no matter how much she abuses them. They should have just left. And, no, I have never seen this kind of abuse, thank goodness!

It is an unusual situation that everyone she ends up with is physically abusive. Is she just making repeated bad choices? Even if she is a problem, why don't the men just leave without doing a number on her?

It must be something she is doing or maybe she starts the fight and they are defending themselves. Dad situation either way.

I personally think it is bad choices. My one daughter makes bad choices with all the men she has been with.. This last one being abusive and such. She just left, but waiting to see if she stays away or goes back. I hate it but the more I talk to her it is like the more she will do the opposite, kinda like a teen, except she isn't anymore and has 4 kids and another on the way with this jerk. But I do think it is the choices, now why they do I don't know. That said I was raised with a very abusive father, even being shot at. Very abusive to my mom, he just reminds me of evil, My mom finally got the courage to leave and never looked back.

@andriaperry I accept it, I think it made me the person who I am today and I honestly like me. I think it also made me stronger and being able to deal with all I have been thru. Thank you thou, I think we all have skeletons in our closets. Mine just made me stronger and wiser.

For the moment there I thought this was just a sad situation of her history until you told me there that she's provoking it for a long time. Yeah, love really hurts. But that's not a healthy relationship. I hope she improves.

When I was in Mexico i knew a woman who would beat on her husband. She was jealous and always after him for this or that. It was sad. I am glad I wasn't there long to see more.

@andriaperry It could have been. I was glad we weren't there to long to see too much. I wasn't fun and it was a mess.

It seems that some women, for reasons they may not even recognise, choose abusive men as partners. I don't think there is any excuse for hitting a woman.

They pick drunks because they are drunks and that is usually what happens, well as I have watched and seen.

@kobesbuddy Ya know maybe it did come down from their mom. I know that its not always drinking because I was never drunk, not was he when I got knocked around.

@andriaperry You are right! Birds of a feather, flocking together. Yet, some women are only wives, with a violent situation. Many of those men are wonderful people, in public. These men are manipulative controllers, from their relationship with an extremely, domineering mother.

@andriaperry With a bar you would have to put up with drunks. They're not my cup of tea either.
