I was just watching the evening news and they were talking about Hurricane Irma and they said that in our area in Florida they do not think that all the debris will not get totally picked up until Christmas. The pile is getting higher and higher in front of my house and even higher around the development. They also mentioned future storms possibly hitting here again in the near future. This is really getting out of control. Besides that it is still so hot here and tomorrow will be in the mid 90's again. I hate hot weather.

They probably don't know what to do with all that debris. Oh my gosh, another storm? That's scary!:(

It is really crazy. Some years we have nothing and now all of a sudden we have so many in a row. The broken trees and other stuff isn't even picked up yet.

@kobesbuddy It is not negligent, there are not enough people to clean up after big storms and nowhere to put all the debris. We understand it and we know the worst has to be taken care of before anything else.

But you all have earthquakes and forest fires...the choice is tough...hurricanes or earthquakes..tornadoes or forest fires. Do you all in California have tornadoes?

Maybe people should take matters in their own hands by forming volunteer brigades to recycle, burn, bury whatever. It has been proven that we cannot rely solely on our government in times of a major calamity, it's far far worst here in the Philippines when something like that happens.

There is no place to put the stuff. There are so many organizations that help out but there are only so many hours in a day.

There is to much devastation here and there is not enough people to get everything done very fast. We have all the down trees and debri in a big pile on our front lawn and we heard it won't be picked up for quite awhile. We need more man power and places to put all the stuff.

I know that. My husband wanted to come down here as he cannot take the cold. He has had many heart attacks and surgeries and the cold is not good for him. I stay inside a lot after I get my gardening done in the morning. After that I do not go outside.

Hurricane Irma was very devastating and am sorry to hear that the people in some areas will have to put up with the aftermath for so long.

We understand it and know that we are not as bad as others so we don't complain. One step at a time and I agree the worst areas should get taken care of first.

Irma has caused so many damages. If it takes so long to clear Florida I wonder how long it will take to clear the Islands.

@ramapo17 Puerto Rico is in a very bad situation, the Island has no power and it will take months before they can have power again.

@LadyDuck I cannot even imagine what they are going through. My son is going on a cruise this weekend and is staying here overnight as the ship leaves out of Miami. He said the islands he is going to were not effected by the hurricane. Some of the cruise ships had to reroute there itinerary because of the storm.

That's a shame. Sounds like Irma did so much damage that it will take longer to clean up than expected.

The hurricane season doesn't end until November 30, I hope there are no more storms this year. The cooler the ocean gets, the less chance of them developing , but it is still so very hot and almost October.

It is the humidy that gets to us. Do you know we have the exact same temperature at this time even though we are thousands of miles apart. But I'm inland and I can't even imagine how it must feel in those kinds of winds. It is so pretty right down to Miami even though I've only seen pictures being so close to the ocean would make me look seriously at weather forcasting.
