Today was one of the rare stocking up shopping trips I do. Since most coupons now are little to no value its hard to stock up. I usually do not do much on the food side and more on the non food. I got : 16 cans of diced del monte tomatoes - $1.52 each 3 large jars of Ragu cheese sauce - 3.39 ach 2 bags of Tyson chicken strips - 8.99 each 2 Devour meals - $3.89 each Total = $62.40 I did two transactions. #1 - Buy 8 Del Monte tomatoes buy one get one free - use 1.00 off 2 store coupons = .26 each can Buy 2 bags of Tyson chicken buy one get one free - Use 2.50 off 2 manufacturer coupon = $6.50 for two Use competitor coupon $3.00 off 15.00 Was $30.97 I paid 6.58 Transaction #2 Buy 8 Del Monte tomatoes buy one get one free - use 1.00 off 2 store coupons = .26 each can Buy 3 ragu cheese sauces buy one get one free- no coupons = $5.08 Buy 2 devour meals on sale $2.50 each used 1.00 off 2 = 4.00 for both. Use competitor coupon $3.00 off 15.00 Total was = 31.43 I paid 9.48 Total for both was $62.40 I paid $16.06 saving $46.34 That is how I stock up, well on tomatoes and Ragu cheese sauce. How do you like to save money shopping?

Wow, you did quite well. I am not much of a coupon user. My shopping is usually done at Aldi and the prices are really good. They have a few name brand items for sale there. But, mainly their own line of foods. They are just as good as the name brands. Some of them I don't care for though and will go to another store to purchase what I need.

Those are great deals you got there. I should definitely be more aware of the deals that I can get when grocery shopping.

I can only do the shopping if we have extra money after paying all our bills. And when it comes to shopping food, I pick those have on sale or has a yellow tag.

Good deals! I hardly ever use more than one or two coupons any more since I don't use a lot of processed products. Looks like you're doing very well, even with the shortage of good ones any more.

@andriaperry It's a process, for sure. I don't have animals and use mostly vinegar, baking soda and the like to clean with. Part of that is because of breathing problems from the fumes of commercial cleaners

I am doing so much better about processed foods. I try to get good deals on animal feed and cleaning products as well.

Coupons are about worthless anymore, of course still use them for things we use as every cent saved is a good thing. As you know we only have one grocery store. I only buy things that are on sale there, with a coupon if possible. This last trip we paid 52 something and saved 48 with just doing the sales. I broke down and ordered pork chops and hamburger from the town over (daughter Shalette lives there so she will pick them up for me) I got a whole pork loin and big bag of hamburg paid I think it was 75 or so. Hate the price but needed meats. Is enough meat to last us a while thou.

You did a really great job at saving today. We're going to another city a couple of hours away tomorrow to get stocked up on our meat. There is a butcher there that is wonderful and I want to go before the snow flies and fill up the freezer.

Were these coupons from newspaper inserts or printables? Which grocery store? Those cheese sauces definitely are handy. I also need to stock up on tomato products.

I always need items that do not have coupons, BUT by getting the other things with coupons dirt cheap, I now have money to buy the items that do not have coupons.

I like your thinking! I like to clip and use the coupons at Dollar Tree. If not for free, how can I complain paying 50 cents for an item? One bad thing about Dollar Tree...have you noticed the week after the Sunday circulars, people clear the shelves and the shelves are never re-stocked? This happens frequently with clothes detergent. What are your favorite recipes using the Ragu, tomatoes and chicken strips? Thank you for a very good question!

I use coupons at the dollar tree as well and yes they will NOT restock till that coupon expires. The cheese ragu makes awesome nacho & cheese, sometimes I make mac and cheese. The chicken strips for a sandwich or chopped on top of a salad The tomatoes will become salsa, added into chili, spaghetti and homemade soup, and more
