Guys I was really into saving for past few days. But I was confused whether to save i n bank or any other like in my house itself. Also if its short term money helps the most. Whether it is for a small think you want to buy or for a vacation. I am saving for a vacation by the way. What is your goal for saving and have you saved for short term . Also do you save in Rd or fixed deposit in bank.

I'll rather save it in the bank than save it at home, I might be tempted to spend it if l keep it at home.

seems to be the right thing and we are tempted to spend what is at home.

Some people will use it to do investment to multiply it, but some will keep it on their houses, but if I were you keep it to your bank for safety and security hehe

I subtract a certain amount each month and put it in the back of the register for saving.

What do you mean by register by the way but the thing you are doing seems to be smart.

Saving in the bank is the safest place. I have saved some money in the bank, It is for some emergency purpose. I am saving money so that I can buy a good laptop, as my present laptop is having some problem. And I need a good laptop urgently.

I have a savings account. I name my account with whatever it is we're saving for at the time. Currently, it's name is 'Christmas'. I'll put anything I have spare in there each month. I also have a spare savings account where I'll deposit anything I get that's extra. My goals are usually short-term. My previous goal was to save for my step-daughter's wedding and a holiday to visit our girls. It took a year but I saved about £1000. After Christmas, the account name will be changed to 'Holland' and funds deposited will be going towards our first family holiday abroad (and mine and Mini's first time abroad). I find it easier to save if I'm reminded what I'm saving for.
