Wait, you are how old?!

Developed a bit of a mild work crush on this fellow who up until yesterday I had no idea of how old he was. Couldnr even ball park it. I figured he was much older than I just based on his appearance and more serious/mature attitude.
I was working with him last night and somehow it came up he was 31. Unless he was joking, but I think not. I pegged him to he around 40ish but had no idea. When he said that all I could muster for a response was "oh..." (I certainly couldnt say wow, you lok so much older!) I am still surprised by this. But its a good thing - Inam only 4 years younger in case he ever catches on to my flirting. ;-)
Everyone ages so differently. Have you ever been totally surprised by someones age like this?

My daughter in law is 44 and looks 15 and passes for the sister of her daughters all the time. Now she is a grandmother and it is even more startling.

@maezee She is tiny and just has a very young looking face, she wears little or no makeup.

I once asked a man, whom I thought to be about 55 but in fact he would just turn to be in his late thirty. He looked much older than he looked.

My brother was surprised that my husband was 20 years younger than me. He knew he was younger, but not by that much. He calls my husband an old soul. He thought he was in his 40's but was really only 33 when we met.

It happens. Im always being told i look 18 still when im 25 and there's 13 year olds who look 25, without make up. Its crrazy scary

I've found that men lie about their age, at times. I'm not sure why, but some of them do

@maezee A man we know claims to be 39 and we know, Steve is at least 45 years old. He doesn't want to admit, he's getting older! LOL

yes. i once fell for a man when i was 39 yrs. he looked at least in his early 30's. when he asked me out i asked him his age. he said 28 yrs. i said you are too young. he said try it just once go out with me. well, i did and soon we were living together but later saw his ID and he was actually 25 yrs. he had lied but it was too late. i spent almost 3 yrs in that relationship.

It really depends on the person, hard life can either make you or break you. The maturity is tested when you have tough life.

My daughter was a hockey trainer (physiotherapist) for several years. The young men were all under the age of 20....they would hit on her until eventually they discovered that she was 30... They thought she was only about 22.

Yes it is interesting. For me every time i introduce my daughters to people they think that i am lying. My daughters are teenagers and when i walk with them they look like my sisters. People have different bodies some grow older than others.
