Fruit with your food?

Do you like that? Personally I can't STAND it. I don't enjoy apples, peaches, cranberries, etc. mixed into salads. I won't touch it. Don't put a mango salsa on my food. Ugh. My good friend at the local restaurant is horrified that I can't stomach fruit and food. I just don't like "sweet" stuff so I think that is part of that. Keep the sweet out of my meals. Do you enjoy fruit mixed with your meals?

No, I do not. I am with you here. It's like fruit is a snack or dessert.

Some savory ingredients go along with the sweet ones, but that doesn't happen too often. I don't want to say the same old things all the time, but pineapple on pizza, for instance. I never tried it myself, but I know people who didn't like it. While others do. Here it's common to have pears or apples with soft cheese, or cantaloupe with prosciutto. But cheese is often served with jam or honey, no matter how salty it is. So I enjoy fruit mixed with savory meals, as long as the mix makes sense. Peaches into salad don't make much sense, for example.

@NJChicaa I just don't like cantaloupe and prosciutto separately, so I don't like them altogether either. But pears and cheese is worth existing.

Yes, I enjoy fruit with my meals. Good source of fiber and nutrition. Do you eat fruit on its own?

I agree with you, there are some things you just do not mix! I like fruit for dessert or for a snack but not with meat or a meal-ew.

The only fruit I enjoy with my food is banana in my cereal (does that count?)

I didn't used to, but I have come across a few salads that were good with fruit in them. I do like cranberries and my daughter brought a cranberry salad with nuts and other things in it, for Christmas dinner one time. It was so good I keep asking her to bring it again. I don't usually cook with fruit, especially fruit with meat, but I do eat it sometimes.

I do like fruit with my foods. I also like pepper jelly which is sweet and hot both. I like dried fruit and fresh fruit in salads. I like fruity chutneys and salsas as well.

We have two dishes that with fruits but it is still not common. I like eating the food in another time. It can be in the morning, noon or before or after dinner.

Haha. It is weird mixing savory and sweet. For me sometimes it works and other times not so much.

We make fruit salad and most fruitd you mentioned are on the salad. But I won't consume more of it because it is too sweet.

I don't mind fruit in a salad. Or just a fruit salad, even.

Yes, I do. I love putting fruits on my salad. If you don't like sweet fruit, you can eat sour one like sour mango
