Favorite "Wild" Songs #1 - "Wild"

It's time to put all this wildness behind us. @FourWalls started a music series of her favorite songs with "wild" in the title, and I jumped in. I am at #1 in this particular countdown: "Wild" by Poe.
Poe based her second album, 2000's Haunted, around tapes of her late filmmaker father, Tad Danielewski, that she had come across, all the while making the record a companion piece to her brother's (Mark Z. Danielewski) 2000 novel, The House of Leaves (which I highly recommend.)
Sitting in the middle of Haunted, "Wild," at nine minutes, is that album's epic tour de force. It was released as a single, yet failed to chart. I've said it before, however: Not all hits are great songs, and not all great songs are hits.
Let me put it this way: it's very rare that my iPod leaves shuffle mode. But when it does, there's a good chance it's to listen to this one.

As a work of art it's pretty good but as a song I can see why it did not chart.
I'm surprised that this one wasn't even on your list.
