With all these shootings, it is sad that this thought came into my mind,,

With the Las Vegas shooting, the terrorist attack in New York and the Wal-Mart shooting and today the Texas Church shooting,,, I actually thought earlier this week when I went to Wal-Mart to shop, "will I make it home today alive?" I also was much more aware of the people around me. I have never thought that when going to a store like Wal-Mart til this week. Isn't it sad that I thought that?

Yeah, it's sad alright. I remember years ago when someone was shooting people getting in or out of their cars, some kind of marksman or something, and for the longest time I was afraid to get in and out of my car even though I had to.

It's as if every 10 or so years some psycho decides to kill @LeaPea2417

@rebelann But, lately these massacres are happening on a monthly and weekly basis. I honestly fear for myself and my loved ones.

I had planned to into New York City for the Downton Abbey exhibit and now I am not going, I just don't want to be around a crowd of people. I think of it everytime I go to any kind of a performance these days. It is a sad state of affairs.

I get the same feeling every day whether I go out or in as here they have home invasions. We are truly not safe anywhere or anytime anymore. It's a sad world which is out of control.

@LeaPea2417 Unfortunately, the police will only know it after the home invasion happens and by then there could be casualties.

There have been home invasions in our town. Luckily we have a good police force. But, I am thinking we should get some kind of home defense system.

When I lived in Italy, in the early 70's this is what everyone thought going outside in the morning "will I make it home back today?". Those were hard times and I am sad to see them back.

@LeaPea2417 We will have to avoid the over crowded areas. I remember in our country there is a time when we were discouraged from going to overcrowded areas to avoid attacks.

I now think about it all the time. Leaves you a bit unsettled about the little things in life. There is so much madness in this world today.

Right after the Colorado movie theater shooting back in 2012, I believe, I went to the movies. Before the lights went down I looked around and mentally mapped out my escape if someone came in from any of the exits and started shooting. I get it. It's very scary.

I think it is the only way to think anymore, always being aware of your surroundings. I always look for exits and everything when going into a building anymore.

In fact we can't be sure where is safer. The accidents can happen everywhere. All we can do is to be careful
