Do you like traveling alone?

Me, not really but if there is no other way, I do travel alone. Anyway, I will be traveling to a friend and then the next day we will go to a Filipino German Christmas party. I will be staying in the house of a Pinay friend who is the publisher of the magazine I am writing. It will be the first time I will be in a Filipino German Christmas party sponsored by our magazine. I am looking forward to that. I will be traveling by train to the south of Germany for 6 hours. I have to change trains 2 to 3 times, too. No worry, I am used to traveling since we are family of Bundesbahner ( people who work in the German railway.) Now, I am thinking what to bring for my friend and her 2 kids. I am thinking of making Gingerbread house but it might be ruin during my travel. Maybe, I just bake cookies for them. We'll see. What about you? Do you travel by train? The photo above was the gingerbread house I made a few years ago.

I have traveled by train from London to Rome to Paris. I prefer traveling alone so I can be in complete command.

Yes, traveling alone is great @JohnRoberts. 2 years ago I went to Berlin for a weekend to meet my publisher friend. The day before I flew back home, I have visited the office of Chancellor Merkel and sigthseeing in the city of Berlin. It was nice sightseeing by myself with my video camera and enjoyed it very much.

Yes, it is peaceful as you have nobody to talk to unless you like talking to strangers. I don't travel alone in the Philippines. Thanks @lady1993

I also do not like to travel alone, in those recent times it's even pretty dangerous. I would make cookies, a gingerbread house is risky to be taken in a 6 hours train ride.

Yes, I have thought about that @LadyDuck. I will bake cookies, cake pops or chocolate fudge to bring with me for the kids, my friend and her husband.

That is good @Kandae11. I love traveling by train, too. Sometimes, it is nice to have a companion when traveling but if nobody goes with me, I have to go alone. I will not be able to go to places I would love to go if I have to wait for a companion to go with me.

I travel alone most of the time when I visit my children who are in different countries. I also travel alone while visiting my mother and siblings who are in Bangalore. I have got used to it but it is a lot of fun when we travel together as a family ..

Yes, it is a lot of fun when you have someone traveling with you @kiran8. Sometimes I fly alone to my home country when hubby can't fly with me. I am already used to travel alone.

Thank you @maezee. I travel sometimes with a plane but this time not. The plane is way too expensive for me nowadays. I have to save for my summer travel next year.

I'm quite happy to travel alone and do so quite often these days as my husband doesn't like travelling any more. I enjoy being alone with my own thoughts.

So we are of the same boat @valmnz. I would love my hubby to come with me but like your hubby, he doesn't like traveling anymore unless we go to our second home which is in the Philippines. I am enjoying my own thoughts too while traveling alone.

If you are a Bundesbahner family, you know that travelling by train can be a pleasure in Germany. Try to avoid travelling on a Friday, though. The beginning of the week is more advisable. Btw, travelling alone is no problem for me. I've often done that.

Yes, it is a pleasure to travel by train @MALUSE. I have to travel in the morning on Friday as the Christmas party is on Saturday evening. Then I still have time with my friend showing me her town or city. I have done traveling alone many times as hubby don't like to accompany me especially if I have to roam around and sightseeing with my Pinay friends.

You are so lucky travelling through trains over there. With the dangers happening in this country of ours, id rather travel with a companion.

I only traveled alone once in my life when I was 12 years old. My father and mother put me on a plane in New York and my grandmother met me in California. Love your gingerbread house!
