She Don`t Like Me!

We waited, I turned on all the phones so not to miss a call. No calls came. At 3 pm I did another round of calls, only getting voicemail. At 3:30 I got dressed and drove 30 minutes to the office of the Dr. I dont use but was sent to, part of there "network" and the place was empty. I told the receptionist my name and she said " Oh yeah, have a seat she`ll have to hand write the script cause the computer is down." A little while passed and the receptionist came out to the lobby and handed me a prescription and she pointed to the bottom where it was noted " must turn in unused Bactrum before filling this." As I walked out I was doing a hhmmmm. Its against the law for a pharmacy to take any medication back across the counter. I went to the pharmacy to get the antibiotic I needed and she read the note at the bottom and she said this is a first and I explained that I cannot take the other one, she said " Oh, that is to protect her in case you want to sue." Not one person said they were sorry for the mix up, not one said I am glad you you caught it before taking that med. Nothing! At the end of the day Dr, yum yum`s office left a msg. they would call in a script fr Tony. What would you o in this ccase?

@andriaperry I'd change networks. I wouldn't want any part of that doctor being a d0uche nor the office never apologizing. Take your money elsewhere.

Very strange that nobody said a word about the mistake in meds. Doctors!!!

@andriaperry I guess to apologize would have meant that they acknowledge that they made a mistake and take responsibility for what happened and they can't do that.

Well I would not go back to that doctor if it is ever possible to avoid her in the future. Whoever is in charge you could report her to if you feel it is necessary.

No customer service skill. That was rude not to say sorry.

It's good you are on the ball. They are a great worry some of these medical practices.

@andriaperry Vince was told to take a supplement once but the doctor had no idea how much of it to take. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

I have learned to read about the medications since I have taken care of so many people with medication allergies and have people in my family that have them.

Sounds like the doc has had a lawsuit or more because of their errors. Many pharmacies do not take back unused medications. They tell you to dispose of it unless it is a narcotic. Then you need to take it to your local police station for disposal.

Looks like I missed quite a bit, will have to go read back. I wouldn't go back to them that is for sure. Sounds to me that she wanted it returned so there wasn't proof in case you decided to sue. Hope you are doing better.

In our modern world everything is always done ONLY to avoid to be sued. This is a silly world.

Interesting how laws are so different. In our area unused medication is returned to the pharmacy for disposal. Odd that no one apologized for the confusion. Computers being down is often used as an excuse....maybe a backup plan is needed.

I've never heard of such a policy. Weird. Luckily, I get my meds from the VA. They have never pulled anything like that on me.

How rude not to even say we're sorry. I don't understand why they acted this way.
