I though about the Bangles’ “Manic Monday” but remained with a classic. The Mamas & the Papas are legendary out here as one of the founders of the California sound. John and Michelle Phillips of the New Journeymen joined Denny Doherty and Cass Elliot of the Mugwumps to form a folk pop rock group with hippy flavor renown for their vocal harmonies.
“Ba-da da-da-da-da” is the instantly recognizable opening of “Monday Monday” from the “If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears” album produced by Lou Adler with the Wrecking Crew playing backup.
“But whenever Monday comes
But whenever Monday comes
A-you can find me cryin’ all the time”
Written by John Phillips, “Monday Monday” was the Mamas & the Papas only #1 single and earned them a Grammy Award for Best Performance by a Duo or Group. Michelle Phillips is the only surviving member. The Mamas & the Papas were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

What a great band. I am a huge fan of Mama Cass. I didn't know that Michelle is the only one left. :-(
