The Book of Moron (No, not a typo)

We have a great performing arts center in town, a beautiful theater with amazing acoustics, along with smaller venue that works well too. Once a month, you are able to get half-price tickets to certain shows. A tour company of the "The Book of Mormon" was coming to town, sure to be a sellout. We saw it three years ago and it is a hilarious musical that some find offensive, but many (even Mormons) love. There was also a show booked at the same time in the smaller theater. Guess what? It is called "The Book of Moron". You may recall that I live in a retirement community. Some of my ping pong friends and I am not sure how many others, saw the ad for half-price tickets and ordered them, reading the ad incorrectly and thinking they were getting great deals on tickets for "Book of Mormon." Word got around the ping pong table. Someone who had read the ad correctly pointed out the apparent subterfuge. Jaws dropped, eyes widened. Refunds were demanded and received by some. One friend who attended the "Moron" show was so annoyed that he did not enjoy it. It is not well known. In fact, I had to google the comic/magician who wrote and performs the show to find out anything about it. Well, it did get great reviews, but if I thought I had tickets to the other show and got herded into this one, I guess I would feel like a moron.

Oh well, I guess the "morons" weren't so dumb. Just think of all the business they got from people thinking they were headed to the other show!

So some critics actually liked the deceitful show? I love South Park but am yet to see Book of Mormon.

Yes, when I found it online the reviews were very good. I'm not sure it was reviewed locally. Book of Mormon is a great musical. One of the writers also did the book for Avenue Q. He is from little old Coos Bay, Oregon.

We need to be more than careful buying tickets online, there are so many scams. This is not a real scam but a subterfuge to make people think they are buying something different.

@JamesHxstatic It was misleading, here it would be considered a scam.

(continued from below) I DID find this entry tho: "The book of Moron is said to have been written by a group of well-known morons (rumored to include Martha Stewart) who had been relocated to Argentina after religious prosecution at the hands of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The book was originally bound in used paper napkins and each illustration was painstakingly drawn with Crayola crayons."
The Book Of Moron (Originally known as the Necronomicon) is one of the world’s most sacred, yet elusive, holy books. This somewhat porous work has spread across all six of the continents as well as Australia. Advocates state that the book contains the secr

You have to read titles carefully and ask if you're not sure! Especially on a title like that!!!
