Misunderstanding in the Drive Through

Yesteday, I went through the drive through of a fast food restaurant. I placed my order and when I drove around, I paid for the food thinking it seemed like too high of a price. Then, they handed me the food and it was 2 meals. They had misunderstood me. They thought I ordered 2 meals when I really ordered just one meal. Instead of telling them their mistake and causing a scene, I went home with the two meals. Later in the day when my husband came home from work, I let him eat the second meal. So, it was no big deal. He got a treat too.

Than I would call that mistake a happy mistake.

@sallypup Pizza Hut is ok. But, the best pizza restaurant is Papa John's. We have one in our town which is nice.

I don't eat at fast food restaurants all the time, only on occasion.

@LeaPea2417 I had Pizza Hut pizza the other day cause the regular parlor wasn't open and we were hungry. Blech. That crust was too sweet and there wasn't enough sauce.

Good thing, you have extra money for the second meal. But well, at least you have something for your husband to eat when he came home from work. But what about if you don't have the second meal pack, what would you let your husband eat when he comes home from work?

@LeaPea2417 That's understandable because you already have a takeout for him.

@LeaPea2417 Do you like Zaxby's? I want to try it. I haven't been there, but there are a couple in Richmond. How do they compare to the other FF chicken places?

I have actually done that before. I didn't want to make it into something, so I brought it home and gave it to the maintenance man at my apartment complex who was about to go home. He was happy!

Yes, I am sure it is. It does seem like a hard job to be a drive through waiter.

Well that worked out then! We learned to check our order right after they hand it to us and before we leave . . . that way if anything is wrong we can tell them. In most cases they fix the order with no problems.

When the order is wrong or whatever and they tell me to drive up and they'll bring it out....nope. Not moving. If I do, then I'm held hostage and they have no incentive to hurry with my order. I very sweetly say, "No thanks, I'll just wait right here at the window."

I would've told them I only ordered one and gotten my money back. Their mistake, they should be told.
