How to get noticed here

I am not sure if I am doing it right. Rather late in the day as they say,The only way to get our activity under 'recent activity at different times ' is to comment on responses received at different times. I am experimenting now and will see if it helps. For those us who are at time zones when the rest of myLot is sleeping, this should be of some help. The only time I cannot do it is when I am sleeping (lol)

Just respond and comment. Just make sure that what you say is related to the discussion. Every discussion is worth a look and to be read, not just for the sake of saying something without understanding it. Hehehe peace

Your advice aptly suits you I think because you have not read my post. To be noticed at different times you need to be active at different times. The recent activity will feature your activity. For someone with activity number totalling 59279 should know that one should say something that is related to a discussion.

@allknowing hahaha then I got a dose of my own medicine. You are wrong about that. I read your post but I just missed the very essence, as so you mentioned. So my bad. But I still stick to what I said. Eventually someone will have to comment on it so that it will be placed on the recent activity regardless of where the person commenting on it lives, right? And in that recent activity, one have to write something that is related to that topic and not just anything outside that topic, isnt it? I may be wrong because who am I in the first place? A newbie with 3753 activities. But In my opinion, a recent activity is placed there as long as someone comments on it, regardless if you're active or not. I may be wrong. But whatever.

@mlgen1037 If your activity is seen throughout the day you are bound to get more attention

I have never actually checked out the 'recent activity' section. I just post, respond and comment as and when I can and leave the rest to fate.

I have quiet times here and I just assume it is because the US is sleeping as many members come from there. I usually have plenty of notifications waiting for me in the morning.

UK is at an advantage in that they are in the middle of all zones that re either in the process of closing or starting or are in between.

@allknowing It's just after 10 am here now but I normally get a quiet period about now but I don;t mind as it gives me a chance to do other things and then I can catch up later. Do I know you from Forumcoin under a different name?

I don't worry about getting noticed. I rarely check the most recent activity. Instead I check discussions of my friends, recent or not. I figure they will notice me when I reply to them.

When I say getting noticed I mean your discussion is responded or your responses are commented on. This can happen if your activity is staggered.

Early in the morning (my time zone) there are not many myLotters around. I also check the most recent activities and I spend my time clearing the notifications.

We need to stagger participation here I think to get noticed in the recent activity

@allknowing The only way is to keep active so that people can notice we are online.

Not sure it is all about being noticed, just being consistent...

Most act on what they see in the recent activity and the more one staggers their activity the more they will be seen - that is how I look at it.

@allknowing That's probably a good tactic - slow but steady, a drip-drip rather than a cloudburst!

I go through the recent activity of those I follow. Even if it was written while I am sleeping I will still see it when I scroll back through. I don't have time or want to read every single post by every single person I follow though.

Scrolling is what many do not do specially if they are at the tail end.

Time zone is an important factor. We can't be here at our sleeping time even though rest of the world is active here.

You can stagger your comments on responses received so that you get noticed in recent activity. It may have an effect

@sprite1950 We are 10 or 12 hours ahead of USA depending on their zones which are 4 in number. Suppose you are active between 8 in the morning and 10 in the night in those hours I m sure you will get USA up and active for a few hours atleast.

I should take a look at it more often. The only times that I ever check the recent activity of anyone is when I am checking on a member who has not been seen for a while.
