The knee doctor just called.

He said that the X rays showed that my knees were not terribly bad. So he is going to inject corticoid medication and it is supposed to help with the pain for at least 2 years. I have to go an get the Rp., buy the medication and ask for an appointment so that he puts it in my knees. The name is Cidoten. I asked for Claudia´s hips and he also found them good and prescribed special exercises. Claudia will go and get the papers as she got the doctor for free when she went with me. I´m glad because the most expensive thing of it all is the trip, partly in taxi, to the doctor. Have you had any problem in your knees? How did you treat it?

I haven't had problems with my knees but had problems with my spine. I was operated on and all went well. It's a risky operation. There is always danger of being paralysed.

@MALUSE oh yes, spine operation is a very delicate one. Why did you have operation in your spine if I may ask?

I injured a knee a few weeks ago when I tripped over a rug. I simply walked a lot to get rid of the minor pain.

This is arthrosis. It is due to old age

I injured my left knee as a child, but never saw a doctor. Now, it bothers me at times, but not very often.

I have not, but my sister has. She can hardly walk now and is waiting for an operation. A few years back, though, she had shots and they helped quite a bit. Her biggest problem is and ways that she weighs too much and didn't try to exercise.

@marguicha I'm sure you're not like my sister. She is really overweight. The injection may be all you'll ever need.

Although I weight more than what I did, still I am not what most people would call overweight. But I want to lose weight for that reason.

I hope your knees get better. Mine are holding up. As long as I don't end up with my dad's bad knees it'll be okay. He got surgery done on his and it took a very long time to improve, but then he's in his 60s and very stubborn.

The doctor saw my x rays and decided my knees were good enough so as to just need corticoids

@Tina30219 The person that gave me the name of this doctor had that problem and this doctor had to do a surgery. My friend had in his cellphone the x rays of his knee before and after (with the titanium piece included). He can now run.

Well, I feel my a few pain on my left knee. But I think it is mostly because of the weight. So the goal now is to lose weight.

That is excellent news that they aren't that bad. The cortisone shots lasting for two years is fantastic! Seems so odd you have to buy the medicine then he will put it in.

I am glad your knees aren't bad. My knees don't bother me..but there will probably come a time..I can tell I don't have a lot of cartilage in there.

I hope the treatment will work, usually corticoid injections are prescribed for rheumatic problems of the articulations.

i have problems with my knees all the time now, I was in a car accident, in 2004, my knees were banged up very bad, bloody , bruised. They told me I will always have issues, when it is cold, so along with the arthritis, not a good mix for me.
