Photo Shock

Had to renew my drivers license at the beginning of April and of course besides filling out forms and giving fingerprints, they take a new photo. Well, they never seem to give you a second to 'prepare' and just tell you to look at the blue button at the bottom of the camera.
Well by the time you find the button, they've already clicked the photo and you only find out what the picture looks like 2 weeks later when you receive the new license in the mail.
I pert near fell over when I opened the envelope and saw the picture. Ewwww, ick, nasty, I hate it. And there ain't a thing I can do about it either. Now I have to wait another 6 years to take another one. So don't be scared when you see this one.

Yep, that's the photo on the license. Wow, I'm surprised they won't let you smile in one there. Most people remember me for my smile, so that would be weird for me.

I appreciate that @mlgen1037 . I wish I could have adjusted the pic for the post so it wouldn't be so .....blurry. I tried, but I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to that stuff.

All that's missing from my driving license photo is the height indicators behind my head!!!
I think it's a conspiracy! They make your driving license photo so bad you'll drive extremely carefully so you don't get pulled over and have to show it 
Having said that, there's nowt wrong with your pic. It's a natural reaction, for everyone other than the totally narcissistic, to think they look bad in photos.

Yeah, I think if a cop pulled me over and looked at the pic and then at me, he'd probably say, "This ain't your license is it?" 
My last one was pretty good because the lady said after looking to find the button, "I'm gonna count to 3, so look pretty." At least that one turned out good.

I know how you feel. We are not allowed to smile in our license photos either. I just got mine renewed and one time they would let you look at the picture but now they just send it off and you get whatever. I hate mine too. I don't think yours looks too bad. You have a beautiful smile.

@Happy2BeMe Well the facial recognition thing would really be screwed up if you had a set of twins. At least with a smile going on, you'd know if someone was missing teeth that would separate them.

@nanette64 They said it was something to do with facial recognition. I also read that there are four states that don't allow people to smile for their drivers license photos.

Most ID photos look like prison mug shots. At least you're smiling in this one. It looks good from my perspective.

I have never understood why they cannot show you it, or take like 3 and have you decide which one is Best. Here it depends where you renew, etc how often they take pictures

I have yet to run into anyone who likes their drivers license photo! My ex used to have one where he had very pronounced 5 O'clock shadow..it was hilarious! Another friend looked like a witch in their photo... Mine is nothing to write home about..!
