He Said We Would Have No Worries With a New to Us Truck

It has been a year since we purchased our/his truck. It was not a new truck, but had very little miles on it. While still under the original warranty there were minor repairs that needed to be done. Thought that was the last of the problems. Wrong. The truck broke down on Sunday. Thankfully my husband purchased a 7 year warranty and whatever goes wrong will be repaired. We only pay a $100 deductible. The dealership is nearly a 2 hour drive from where we live. We had to hire a flatbed truck to transport it to the dealership. Not sure how much that cost. Hubby said not to worry. So, until we get the truck back I have had to get up and moving earlier than I want to. Little Miss is happy to go on a new venture. Taking Gramp to work is fun for her. LOL. Can't wait for the weekend to get here so I can sleep a little later. I miss that extra half hour of rest, and waking slowly to start my day. Do you hit the ground running or prefer to ease into the day?

It's good that she thinks of it all as an adventure, but what an inconvenience to you.

Because of the extended warranty we have it only cost $100 for the deductible.

I hit the ground running every morning. Get right up and get straight into the bathroom to start getting ready then into the ktichen to make my lunch and eat something. I take 45 minutes in the morning and im out the door. Wake up at 6:30 and at work by 7:30. Its just the way i have been and just get up and go for the day and start my day early. I sometimes have to wake up my boyfriend by calling him or texting to make sure he is already up because he wakes up late sometmes and has to be to work at 7 but he is another one gets up gets ready and leaves.

@lologirl2021 there was a time when my hubby texted me all day long. Now that the honeymoon is over, it happens less frequently.

@ElusiveButterfly Sounds like my man too. I text him in the morning when i get up to make sure he is up and he usually calls me back and talks to me on his way to work. I think he just misses me sometimes lol.

So sorry about your truck and hope it's fixed by now. I hit the ground running, well, er, walking. That helps me ease into my day.

@DianneN if he doesn't beat on it, it should be okay. However, he found out that it was used in truck pull competitions by the first owner. It already took a beating and now we have to deal with whatever needs repair. Thankful that he thought to buy an extended warranty.

@just4him hopefully this won't happen again. If it does, he will need to have my brother ride along with him.

There was a time when I slept right up til about 30 minutes before I would head out the door. I grew tired of rushing around so I started waking a little earlier so I could relax.

@ElusiveButterfly I could be out the door pretty quick if I slept in too. But it probably doesn't do your blood pressure any good.

I guess it was the rear end of the truck. Didn't take long for them to fix it. We pick it up tonight.

I don't like mornings and don't do well but with the foster baby I've been up at 6 am daily. He's worth it.

Being a foster parent changes your life forever. After fostering our granddaughter, I have no doubt in my mind that if we were asked to take another, I would do it. Very rewarding.

Perhaps you have "road services" included in your insurance. That helps with towing and breakdowns. I have had to share rides with hubby in the past. Getting up early and staying at work late in order to share ride with hubby. I am the up and around type, though.
