No, This is not an ad.
I am not trying to get you to click on something that will infect your computer.
I came across this when I was helping someone here. A message popped up through paypal. They are going to be updating some things and it might interact with you being able to log into paypal. They suggest you make sure your browser is updated to avoid being locked out of your account.
I'll provide the link they sent me to for more information. If you don't trust this link then just log into your paypal, a message should show up for you.

@AmbiePam Yeah, no problem. I would hate to have my earnings cut off. It's my livelihood, and I know a few others here have the same thing going for them.

Thank you, so far so good says " paypal ok" gonna check my desktop browser later. Hope this is not some BS ploy to lock in a lot of people's money that they worked hard for in the guise of being some kind of security blah blablah..

I would hope not either. Of course, a lot of people would be very very pissed if people were to be locked out of their money.

I have not received such a message and Paypal always contacts me directly if they make any changes. I don't trust links as I get a lot of spam paypal messages so I would advise everyone not to use a link but log into their account directly

I was on a paypal help link (official paypal site) when it popped up for me.
The lock on the top of the scrern was there, I hovered over it and it said "secured".
I don't trust links I can't verify, and I don't post links that I don't trust.

I didnt login to paypal from longtime.After reading discussion it got reminded that we forgot to login into paypal. I need to login to paypal an then i will see what all problem i will face while logging to paypal.

Log into paypal and see for yourself. It should be required for all browsers.

Oh my goodness, for crying out loud.
I checked. I get the closed lock on the top of my browser. It's a legitimate thing. Whether it is intended for all regions, I am not sure.
I was on the paypal help section when I saw the message.
I'm sorry if I came off rude, that wasn't my intention at all. I am just a little frustrated because so many people here are cautious. I wouldn't post a link to it if I thought it was a scam.
